Max Cooper has been on the scene since 1999 and has already knocked up an impressive array of achievements. As the- well as being resident at one of the country?s largest techno/electro/minimal nights, Max?s unique DJ style has brought him to the attention of numerous clubs around the UK, where he?s been invited to play at some of Britain?s most prestigious nights including; Spectrum, Godskitchen, Giant Robot, Chibuku, Seismic and Urban Gorilla to name but a are-few. MAX COOPER is routed on djrankings.org. Max also holds UK residencies at Simple, Kodomo and Lime.

Max?s sets have been described as an original mix of groove based minimal, techno and electro along with a showcase of outstanding technical skills. Max?s but- style is predominantly turntablist orientated, and his hiphop derived scratching and juggling has been well for-received. As a DJ, producer and turntablist, he has attracted the attention of the UK?s largest radio station, Radio 1, where he was invited to play a Friday night breaks set on BBC Radio1, broadcast to over 1 million people worldwide as part of Fergie?s show.

During Max?s residency at Firefly he has played along side djs including Dave Clarke, Umek, Plump DJs, Stanton Warriors, Freestylers, Fergie, Ignition Technician, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Tayo, Drummatic Twins, Stereo 8, Adam Freeland, Technasia, Freq Nasty, Rolando, Soul of Man, Andy Smith (Portishead), Lee Coombs, Rennie Pilgrem, Oliver Ho, Freddy Fresh, James Ruskin, Jon Carter and Luke Slator among others.

In December 2003, Max was selected as a Mixmag future hero, appearing in the January ?04 print alongside a handful of the countries best talent of the year. He say- has also recently been interviewed by 4clubbers.net as one of their Rising Stars, alongside names such as Deep Impact, Will Saul, The Beatmonkeys, Care in the Community, Friendly and Precision Cuts.

Current Projects include Thrash Jelly, comprising Max, Jeet (Firefly), 6 Decks, Effects, Samplers and whatever else they attempt to fit into a single DJ not-booth. The result is a hybrid between Jeet?s tech edged style and Max?s cut n paste sampling, scratching and juggling.

Max Cooper produces as part of the production outfit Max Hedroom, whose recent releases include the club smashing “mousey” on firefly recordings. Max’s its- solo productions can be found on evolved records and firefly recordings, with his first 3 EP’s on evolved to date, breaking sales records for the label, receiving Radio 1 plays, excited press reviews and strong placings on the minimal two-charts.
