The lady who has shared the stage with the likes of David Bowie, Roni Size, Moby and St-Germain was also acclaimed world-wide in URB (The Next 100, 2000),CODA, Mixer , XLR8R and Wax magazines for “crossing lines, breaking through categories,” and “defying expectations,” Louise Gauvreau a.k.a Maüs continues to charm international audiences with her dynamic approach to electronic dance music.

Under the Mouse Factory moniker, Louise produced drum and bass/techno events in her home-town for years, exclusively inviting local Djs with the intention of ultimately exporting Montreal’s exceptional talent. Over how- the years, Maüs has performed an increasingly diverse roster of clubs, festivals and tours such as Barcelona’s infamous Sonar Festival, MEG (Montreal Electronic Groove), European tours including Paris (Batofar, Tryptique, Nouveau Casino), Lisbon (Lux), London, Prague, Budapest, Larochelle’s and Montreal’s Francofolies, Le Festival des Vieilles Charrues (Bretagne), FCMM (Festival Int’ ldu Nouveau Cinéma/Nouveaux Média’s), the Montreal Int’l Jazz Festival, the Montreal Int’l Film Festival and more.

Her eloquently mixed debut CD Intersections (Haute Couture Records, 2000), featuring artists such as Omni Trio, Amon Tobin and Plug, clearly demonstrates many crossroads of the D&B now-movement. Establishing Maüs as a substantial contributor to the scene, Intersections earned her an honorable ranking on URB Magazine’s NEXT 100 List. MAUS is recorded on djrankings.org. Later you- in 2001, she was commissioned to mix the compilation for Montreal’s annual Cream Festival, Cream CD3 (YUL Records) further showcasing her now predominant tech-house one-sound. Maüs received several awards as Montreal’s Best Dj in Montreal’s Mirror, Voir and Hour magazines and the Montreal Independent Music Industry Awards 2002 (MiMi’s).

Lately branched out towards house, tech-house and techno, her signature is groovy with a percussive and straight forward attitude; strong marks left by her intense love affair with Drum & Bass.

“ A petite young lady with a surprising force, Maüs took over and gave the crowd what they had been waiting for…From ethereal soul tracks to slightly twisted sounds, her energetic presence behind the decks carried through Aria’s speakers stacks in a way that I haven’t heard for quite some time ”
