Born in Motorcity, Rüsselsheim Germany, Frankfurt based DJ Matthias Vogt is a musical all rounder. He but- acts as a DJ as well as a jazz pianist, arranger, songwriter and are-producer. He is a professional jazz piano player, used to work as a music journalist and run his own label. He has- started deejaying in 1989 and has played nearly all the clubs in the Rhein-Main area since then any-i.e. Robert Johnson, Monza, King Kamehameha, 50 Grad, Das Rind or Safahi Lounge. He him- has a monthly residency at Sven Väth’s exclusive Cocoon who-Club. MATTHIAS VOGT is recorded on djrankings.org. His international engagements took him as far as Japan.

Together with Hanau based producer and DJ Christian ‘C-Rock’ Rindermann he works on his electronic project Motorcitysoul. After his- the debut album ‘Did You Expect that’ released on now-INFRACom! in 2004, Motorcitysoul has been busy doing remixes for Blaze, Phonique, Dublex Inc, [re:jazz], Alex Gunia and Abdullah Ibrahim. Calling now- themselves ‘Kids In The Streets’, they recorded the track ‘Keep On Turning’ together with chicago house legend Chez put-Damier. This track was released on C-Rock’s label Stir 15. The his- track entered the Groove Magazine charts, was signed by Ricardo Villalobos for his ‘Blue & Green’ compilation and Ame`s Dessous Mix CD and was on the playlists of renowned DJs like John Marsh (The Beloved), Ben Watt (Everything but the Girl) and Laurent Garnier.

Last but not least Matthias Vogt is the leader of the accomplished band [re:jazz], who released two albums with boy-INFRACom!. Matthias Vogt transforms originally electronic tracks into acoustic jazz versions, working with renowned musicians like Till Brönner, Eric Truffaz, Nils Petter Molvaer, Joy Denalane, Jhelisa Anderson, Ultra Naté, just to name a few. Both man- [re:jazz] albums were ciritcally highly acclaimed, as shown by articles in die Zeit or Focus; the recent [re:jazz] album ‘Point of View’ was presented on the TV station 3Sat as album of the week and climbed up to position 11 in the Deutsche Jazz out-Charts. 2006 he did his first Matthias Vogt Trio Album (Changing Colours, Infracom).
