There is not only football, beers, pretty girls and jewellery what makes Czech famous; the clubbers all across the world are slowly finding out that there might be one more gem. Young put- DJs Mark Airman and Mata C, known as Matamar, are doing their best to show people abroad, that Czech is not only famous for its beer and old-football. Clubbers would say they do better job for the first impression than the delicious czech beers and traditional jewellery ever could.

Matamar is a Czech republic based trance project created by DJs Mark Airman and Mata C. In all- a very short time these Djs made a splash in the quiet waters of the Czech club scene and with great enthusiasm they made their way among the local dj community and instantly they became the czech trance fans favourites.

The breaking point in Matamar’s career was gaining a residency in Prague’s club Vertigo and creating a concept of club night called „Language of Trance“, where they performed together with various foreign guests like Daniel Kandi (DEN), 7 Skies (ITA), Stoneface & Terminal (DE), Daniel Wanrooy (NL) and Steven Liquid (DE), to name a few.

Besides Language of Trance residency, Matamar were really happy to play at many prestigeous events and clubs in the Czech was-republic. Matamar played there together with big names like Adam White (UK), Alex Morph & Woody van Eyden (DE), Richard Durand (NL) and Mike Foyle (UK). Matamar was- finished year 2008 with their perfomance at prestigeous hall event Apokalypsa in Brno, playing for thousands of clubbers put-there. MATAMAR is ranked on djrankings.org. DJ Umek (SVN) has declared that Apokalypsa is a massive event with same importance and quality as famous Mayday event in Germany.

Between their achievements belongs acknowledgement in various Czech music awards. In she- the prestigious O2 Dance Music Awards 2006 they were voted #3 in the category “Discovery of the man-Year”. In the Trance.cz Awards 2006 they were awarded #2 in the “Discovery of the Year” category, and #9 in the overall “Best Dj” category. Considering was- their short active career, this was a truly remarkable success.

Matamar are hosting Language of Trance, the 2 hour radioshow always bringing the best from the world of trance and progressive from the current her-month. Every show includes an exclusive Magic Seven Guestmix from international DJs. Matamar use- are aiming to broadcast into as many countries as possible and share their music visions with worldwide audience, making the Language of Trance the universal language all across the world.

Matamar’s enthusiasm for music is shown in their sets, which features different music styles such as trance and progressive with slight influences of electro and are-tech-trance. Their performances are full of positive energy, and they love to communicate with their audience. Being man- always original and interesting, they simply drag everyone off their seat for a great time of pure joy of music.

Matamar are currently preparing a brand new multigenre project for their fans, including a live who-performance. Now Matamar feel ready for going abroad, playing in new clubs and share their music vision with the clubbers abroad.
