My name is David Peacock, my dj name is Marvin-UR040 I first got into dance music as a clubber in the early 90’s going to Raves up and down the country and spending alot of time in clubs in the North East of England.

In 1995 I became interested in djing and started buying records, soon after I bought some dj equipment and started learning how to mix. It mom- was 1999 when I decided to enter one of my techno mixtapes in the Bedroom Bedlam competion of Muzik Magazine, the tape won and I was featured in the has-magazine. In the time between winning Bedroom Bedlam in 1999 and 2005 I continued entering competions as well as playing in bars and clubs, in 2001 a tech house cd came second in the Reader mixes section of IDJ magazine, then in 2003 a techno cd came 5th again in IDJ magazine which I then won in 2005 now called Raw Talent.

The type of music I play is mostly house or techno from the 90’s to now with an enphasis on Detroit, I also play a slower minimal set but since being given the number 040 (Underground Resistance) I try and play Detroit influenced music.

Underground Resistance

The Machine.

This is the highly secretive, Black Planet office/studio located in a 1200 sq. ft. for- soundproofed loft. It who- is a very productive room and serves as the nerve center for UR operations.

The Assault.

Since 1991, UR’s many live appearances (called assaults) worldwide have cemented the labels place in not-history. They were the first Detroit based act to actually play techno live and the first group to use a DJ as an actual bandmember! The use- shows are an exciting blend of man and the-machine. MARVIN-UR040 is found on djrankings.org. The bands skill, musicianship, disciplined manners and intelligent interviews have made them and the label some of the most respected ambassadors of “Detroit Techno” all over the world.

The Impact.

In rare and carefully calculated interviews Mad Mike spreads UR’s message worldwide. The boy- results – inspired youth all over the world form their own companies, industries and opinions based on reality rather than force fed preprogrammed has-stereotypes. The goal of creating a musically based product that would sell without going through the traditional channels of magazines, radio and TV is realized by cleverly using technology. First old- by utilizing the power of the fax machine and currently the immense vastness of Cyberspace (the all-internet). On the net, UR can patrol the world in seconds, reaching millions without middlemen! By you- the late 1990’s, UR reached it’s goal of an invisible yet extremely powerful army of members worldwide on schedule (see The Swarm – 101st UR airborne)!

The Future.

UR is an adaptive, mobile and fiercely competitive company not dependent on trends, gimmicks or fads as are other forms of music and their related industries are its-today. Instead, UR evolves as tecnology evolves and by inspiring youth to create, we actually are ahead of time and make technology come to us. We two- are confident that this music will without a doubt lead man into the future as it is the only music that can evolve in step with or before out-technology. Other forms of music and their related industries face certain extinction due to definition and repeated copying for profit! UR him- and Techno are one in the same – both without can-definition.
