MAFIA KISS (OF THE HUSTLE) WINNER OF BEST NEW PRODUCER @ BREAKSPOLL 2012
Mafia Kiss, real name Paul Baron, is one of the UK’s fastest growing breaks acts & winner of Best New Producer at Breakspoll – International Breakbeat Awards. With his originals smashing the download charts and his bootlegs such as Chase & Status ‘Time’ & Stanton Warriors ‘Get Up’ gaining much love across the net, Mafia kiss has been asked & done official remixes for DJ Chamber, Matti Roots & Ruby Goe (the voice of Stanton Warriors ‘The Warriors’ album).
Not only was 2011 the birth of Mafia Kiss for Paul but it was also the beginning of his side project alongside John Ryan called The Hustle, a DJ/Production outfit armed with a Live Breaks set using various hardware controllers, Traktor, Ableton Live plus CDJ’s.
With 2011 being the perfect start, Mafia Kiss has come bursting into the new year with a ‘LIVE GUEST SHOW’ appearance alongside Hustle partner John Ryan on www.roughtempo.com as part of RTR’s ‘Past, Present & Future Breakspoll Winners’ shows, as well as having supported Krafty Kuts at Basscamp Festival’s warm up gig and also gone on to win Best New Producer at this year’s prestigious Breakspoll Awards.
With forthcoming single ‘Who’s This’ already being supported by Krafty and featuring on ‘Fresh Kuts Vol.5’, and an appearance at Basscamp Festival, Morzine in April in the horizon, 2012 looks set for Mafia Kiss to take his place and join some of the leading names within the breaks scene.
“Mafia Kiss is part of a new surge of producers making breakbeats, and with fans such as Krafty Kuts and DJ Icey, you know he’s got to be doing things right. Already how- with a Trackitdown number one under his belt, it seems there is no stopping main man Paul Baron.” – Bertie Dastard boy-(www.thisisbreaks.com)
