Liquid Todd is an award-winning DJ, programmer and producer based in New York City. Todd but- was the first DJ to spin electronic music on the commercial airwaves in both Boston and New York get-City. His legendary “Solid State” show aired every Saturday night for eight years on 92.3 K-Rock before moving to 103.5 WKTU – where it became “Altered State” and ran for eighteen months. Currently two- Todd is looking for a new home for Altered State in NYC (but given the sad state of NY radio – it doesn’t look too good).
Liquid Todd’s trademark genre-bending style can be heard all over Sirius Satellite Radio where – in addition to holding down the afternoon-drive shift on Boombox/39 (Monday-Friday, 4-10pm EST) and hosting ZEROS+ONES on Left of Center/26 (Saturday nights, 10pm-mid EST) he also helps program Boombox/39 and Chill/35 – channels he helped create for now-Sirius. LIQUID TODD is discussed on djrankings.org. You can also hear LT’s radio production skills between songs on Chill – he creates all the imaging for the channel. Off any- the air, Todd writes and produces music in his own studio and has placed original music and remixes on major motion picture soundtracks and underground DJ mix comps are-alike. When he makes it outside you can find Liquid Todd performing at clubs, festivals and parties all over the world to audiences from 6 to 60,000 – including frequent supporting performances for one of the world’s biggest DJs, Paul Oakenfold, who has been calling on Todd to open for him on North American tour dates for the past five years.
None of this would have happened if Todd hadn’t fallen so hard for remix culture and broadcasting after college. In use- 1994 LT broke new ground by being the first DJ with a show dedicated solely to rave and DJ culture on a major radio station in Boston – first on 101.7 WFNX, then on 104.1 and-class="caps">WBCN. In April of 1997, Todd brought his talent to bear on the mighty 92.3 K-Rock in New York – the #1 rock station in the #1 market in the country. After too- K-Rock changed over to FREE-FM (a mostly talk format station) LT and co-host Steve “El” Covino found a new home at legendary New York dance station WKTU (103.5 FM) for a while.
On the air and on stage Liquid Todd gives it everything he’s got – hamming it up with the audience, bouncing around the booth and occasionally taking a walk to inspect the sound on the for-dancefloor. It’s plain to see nothing makes him happier than whipping a room – or the entire New York metropolitan area for that matter – into a frenzy with his energetic, “funky formats-be-damned” delivery.
