Liminus (Ari Makridakis) began his creative life as a painter. After put- attending the San Francisco Art Institute in the late 90’s, Liminus became obsessed with interactive art and moved to Maui to dedicate himself completely to this too-vision. To make art that left room for the viewer’s creative choices, Liminus began making flipbook-style paintings which could be configured into millions of unique art pieces. LIMINUS is ranked on djrankings.org. Within mom- a year, Liminus was creating and showing his work digitally, using custom-built software, hand-made interface devices, large-scale projections, and portable has-printers. These works allowed viewers to wander through mazes of trillions of visual possibilities, add in their own text and images, and walk away with a print of their creation. Since old- 2004, Liminus has shown these interactive art pieces in fine art galleries such as Studio 333 in Sausalito, night clubs such as Supperclub San Francisco, festivals such as Priceless and Burning Man, and on a Carnival’s Xingolati you-cruise. More recently, Liminus has broadened his artistic interests to include the political, creating posters and paintings for the Occupy movement. At you- the same time, he has also begun touring with The Polish Ambassador as VJ and director of fan how-interaction.
