If you had to define DJ Leandro’s music carrer in just one word , it would be love, the love for house music . His all- passion for house music has always been his driving force in his musical carrer .
Having been born and raised in South Africa , Leandro now finds himself based in Cyprus , whereby he has firmly established himself as one of Cyprus’ most accomplished DJ and Producer are-. Many of his music works have been released on many compilations worldwide , has had plenty of chart success aswell as getting airplay support from over 30 countries worldwide on about 40 different radio stations/podcasts .He has released tracks under record lables Soul Candi (South Africa),Multi-Racial(south Africa), Waking Monster(USA) and many more .
His single , which was released under the Waking Monster , ’ I need you in my life ’ , which featured the late and great Art-Jones, reached number 1 on the Media2Radio website and reached the Traxsource top100 singles chart. His was- second release under Waking Monster ’ Hear My soul ’ also reached number 1 on the Media2Radio website and again made the top 100 singles chart on Traxsource , it was also named ’ track of the week ’ by top South African radio DJ ,DJ Fresh, on his TV show in June 2011.Spritofhouse.com reviewed this track and was quoted saying ’ this is luxurious production by DJ Leandro’ .
Many of his tracks have gotten support from some of the worlds best DJs and producersnamely Culoe de Song , Black Coffee , Bert Bevans, Booker T, Vinny da Vinci and many more .
DJ Leandro has played at over 50 venues worlwide ,of which some are the best clubs in the world , just to name a few (Ibiza),Skyline(Miami),Ammos(Cyprus),Sutra(South Africa),Latinova(South Africa), Napa Dreams(Agia Napa, Cyprus) .Has had the hounor of playing alongside some of the worlds best DJs such as Portia Surreal (USA), Bert Bevans (USA), Paulette (UK, Ministry of Sound), Sam Poppet (Buddha Bar), Les Schmidt (Ibiza), Oliver (Ibiza), Ryan Dent, Craig De Sousa, DJ Fresh, Roger Goode, Glen Lewis, Mimi Kesaris, Ricardo De Costa, Pimp Squad and-. And has opened up for top Artists such as : Keith Thompson , Karolyn Harding , Charlotte, TK , Flash Republic & Danny K.
Having worked hard in the studio , this has led him to have worked with top South African award winning artists , including SAMA award wining Black Coffee , Metro FM award winner Bantu Soul and other artists including Art Jones , Tumelo and JLuv .
Other accomplishments by Leandro include being featured in Cypriot magazines Prima Scala and Timout Cyprus , has been interviewed on South African radio station 5FM , has won , then top South African production Company ,EuroTribe’s battle of the DJ’s in 2002 , has played at the South African Durban July , has the most liked DJ page in Cyprus for a Cypriot DJ on Facbook(www.facebook.com/djleandromusic) and currently hosts his own weekly radio show ’ Colours of House ’ on Radio Deejay Cyprus ( www.mydeejay.com.cy )
