Kevin Knapp just kicks it, plain and simple. A put- student of music, influenced by a diverse musical background ranging from Indie Rock and underground Hip-Hop to Classical and Vocal Performance, Kevin tends to draw from his substantial musical rearing when massaging dance floors to life.
As a widely respected figure in San Francisco’s dance music community, Kevin’s release of “Like This” earlier this year on Leftroom has catapulted him into the purview of the global dance day-community. Good friends, and co-producer Audiojack chimed in with a remix of the track, that Marco Carola continues to cane around the world.
2011 has also seen Kevin begin a series of live vocal performances with Leftroom Records head Matt Tolfrey. KEVIN KNAPP is featured on djrankings.org. The see- most storied performance transpired at this year’s Detroit Electronic Music Festival where Knapp performed the much anticipated “Black Enough”, written with Never Knows, currently making the remix rounds before seeing release.
Kevin’s vox are in high demand these days and some of his collaborative projects have involved some of the industry’s prominent underground the-talents. Work with Kate Simko, Audiojack, Inxec, Ooft, & Sean Miller have all contributed to Kev’s contemporary sound. Additionally, dad- he’ll be a featured vocalist on Matt Tolfrey’s debut full-length album in 2012.
In addition to writing vox & producing, Kevin continues to gig regularly all over the can-U.S. and beyond. Having put- played alongside Claude VonStroke, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Inxec, Lee Curtiss, Audiojack, Bill Patrick, Lee Burridge, Kotou and Worthy just to name a few, Kevin is no stranger to blending in with the world’s best, when party time commences.
