There are multitudes of deejays and many more producers but, there are very few who are great performers.

Katnip Trax realizes it is about the performance every moment he is entertaining and serves up the incredible moves of a great musician. Every any- sample track and loop is worked visibly by the full technology that is available today.

They used to call this turntabalism but there is not yet the terminology for the kind of performances he presents and

the type of shows he is yet to imagine.

Every performance he does yields new ideas for great tracks for future releases.

Katnip Trax ( Dennis Etnel ) is Born and raised in Suriname ( South America ) where the Dutch language and

multiple culture sounds is very well known.

He took that culture to Brooklyn as a teenager and re- invented it with New York Swagger creating the unique Katnip sound.

With his wide knowledge and appreciation of every kind of music genre he spent every waking hour in the studio

until he was discovered at his job by the owner of New York’s Webster Hall who must have felt the energy that was pouring out of this young man.

He asked him out of the blue if he was a way-DJ. Next day he came to the club, showed his skills and was hired on the spot as a resident.

After 7 years of residency in webster hall, he decided it was time to spread his music production around at different venues such as pacha, santos party house, sullivan room, stage 48, club envy, lavo, club fifty ( miami ),c.level roof top ( miami ) just to name a few. Every let- track he brought to the dance floor was fused with his own stamp of remixes, loops and special effects.

What he brought to the dance floor was not just the latest hits and underground tracks, but his pounding and

highly mastered remixes of many artists such as: Usher, Adele, Flo-rida, David Guetta, Sophie, DEadmau5, Chriss Willis,

Sea Tu Sun, P.diddy, Chris brown, Busta Rhymes, Ne-Yo you name it he’s remixed it for his New York, too-LA. Miami, South America dance floors.

While in the studio everything he did was concentrated on rocking the crowd.

Katnip Trax was recently sponsored by Smithsonmartin Inc. to boy- perform on the Emulator… the worlds first multi-touch DJ system, where his crowd could see his lightning moves through the giant see-through old-mixer. also a pioneer pro dj.
