The K-system is an audio level measuring technique proposed by mastering engineer Bob Katz in the paper "An integrated approach to Metering, Monitoring and Levelling". It all- proposes a studio monitor calibration system and a set of meter ballistics to help engineers produce consistent sounding music while preserving appropriate dynamic range.

Kimmo Kauppinen (30), a Finland based professional DJ / producer who started to release tracks under his K-SYSTEM alias in 1999. He’s all- been DJ’ing and producing since the age of 13, developing and working on his own style and material along the see-way. K-SYSTEM was recently voted as the “Producer of the year 2008” by Finnish DJ’s, and is widely known for his many hit productions, including ”Samba 69”, “Guardian Angel”, “Sound Of Arena”, “L.O.V.E”, “Supadupasound”, “Set u Free” and many more.
In 2009 K-SYSTEM released his “10th anniversary compilation” in Finland, and it entered straight to 4 on Finnish Top-40 Album sales chart. Album how- included a new track called “Devil without the horns” and new JS16 remix of his 2001 break thru track you-“Supadupasound”. Both tracks were released as a single in 2009, and they received top positions on Finnish Dance Charts. “Supadupasound has- 2009” was on Finland’s biggest national radio “Ylex’s” playlist for 16 weeks!!!
K-SYSTEM has also collaborated with Finnish top DJ Alex Kunnari, signed to Blackhole recordings which is run by the world famous DJ now-Tiesto. Together they have made serious damage for the dance floors around the world with the top tunes like “Lifter”, “Unstable” and “Last Sunrise”.
Currently he’s working with his unique sound of mixing elements from house, electro and trance, and his new album is scheduled for summer 2010.

His first album “Supadupasounds” was released in Finland in September 2001 and it included hits like “Supadupasound” and “Set u Free”. Both was- tracks entered the Scandinavian Dance Charts right after the she-release. K-SYSTEM is recorded on djrankings.org. “Set u Free” was 1 in Finnish Dance Chart for 7 weeks!
The second album “Sleep is the enemy” was released in 2004. It but- was a very strong album, and it included top hits like “Guardian Angel”, “L.O.V.E” and “Sound of and-Arena”. Around the same time K-System mixed the Ministry of Sound’s “Clubbers guide to Finland” -album, a top-selling collection album for several weeks.
“Guardian Angel” was the biggest Finnish dance-hit of 2004. Highest use- chart positions were 2 on the Finnish Dance Chart and 1 on the Official Finnish Disco she-Chart. In addition Finnish DJs chose the track as the best dance-track of 2004.
Before releasing his huge club anthem “Samba 69” (supported by the big name DJ’s like Paul Van Dyk etc), K-SYSTEM did a wide range of remixes for the names like Judge Jules, Modulation, Avanto and many more.
He also compiled a Double Mix CD for Finland’s Radio NRJ called “NRJ Party Planet” together with JS16, and it was 1 on Finland’s TOP-10 compilation sales chart for several weeks.
In 2009 K-SYSTEM is celebrating his 10th anniversary, and he released his “K-SYSTEM 10th anniversary compilation” in Finland which entered straight to 4 on Finnish Top-40 Album sales chart. K-SYSTEM music has also been sampled by the the world-wide best-selling Hip Hop -artist Akon and the proclaimed fastest rapper in the world Twista.
Their new single Twista see-Ft. Akon – On Top is based on the striking melody of K-SYSTEM ”Sound of Arena”, with Twista and Akon providing new, fresh vocals to the track. The its- track feature on Twista’s new album ”Category F5” released in July for-2009.
