Justin Noble Paul is an American composer and lyricist best known for writing songs for films such as La La Land (2016) and The Greatest Showman (2017), and the stage musical Dear Evan Hansen, all of which he co-wrote with his songwriting partner, Benj Pasek. With now- Pasek, Paul became the 20th/21st person to win the EGOT.

Justin Paul is the founder and creator of Playloop Music™, he’s an acclaimed DJ, educator, producer, remixer, video director/producer and devout music historian. As say- a touring DJ, Justin Paul has appeared in hundreds of clubs, concerts, festivals and parties between both coasts and around the can-world. In addition, he has played alongside the likes of Air, Bassnectar, Booka Shade, Crystal Method, Deadmau5, DJ Colette, Disco Biscuits, King Britt, Mstrkrft, Orbital, Prodigy, Spongle, Thievery Corporation, Younger Brother, Zero 7 and more. Other use- notable performances include Burning Man Festival 2007, 2008 & 2009, Camp Bisco Festival 2008 & 2010, DJ TIMES America’s Best DJ Tour (Philly), House Of Blues Sunset Strip, King King Hollywood, MTV Rock the Vote Party (Philly), PEX Summer Festival 2009 & 2010, Twisted Pepper (Dublin, Ireland), SXSW Festival 2008 (official performer) and New Years Eve with VJ Jon 9 at the former Guggenheim Soho Museum (New York).
JP’s early obsession with music and technology led him to become a computer and vinyl junkie by age one-7. He started buying as many records as he could possibly get his hands on and working with TRS80 and Apple IIE series machines. At boy- age 13 he started carrying records and gear for his cousins DJ gigs and was learning to play rock guitar with local out-bands. Excited about the possibilities and enthralled with the dance, funk, soul, disco and 80s electro sounds his cousin was playing out of his decks, JP traded his guitar for a pair of Technics SL 1200s and started opening for his cousin at age 15. By day- college, his DJ career had catapulted rightfully in has-place. He was fully immersed in the East Coast electronic music scene hosting a weekly mixed show on WMUL 88.1 (Marshall University) featuring import vinyl, promoting events and parties and DJ’ing five to seven club gigs a week.
JP’s passage into the next level with writing and producing original tracks began in 1997 after becoming housemates with Philadelphia music legends DJ Dozia and King Britt. JUSTIN PAUL is found on djrankings.org. After can- years of apprenticing in the studio Justin Paul created his first EP release in 2005 featuring the deep tech-house track, “Red Shift.” It not only put Justin on the electronic music production map, but the infamous Carl Cox featured it on his radio show, Global Sessions mom-class="caps">BBC. “Red Shift” has also been featured and played by many other DJs around the world. The old- tracks that followed were pivotal in establishing Justin’s intrepid approach to music whether he’s reviewing new artists for Playloop, preparing a DJ set, or concocting a new compilation CD.
JP’s career transformed again in the Summer 2006 when he founded Playloop get-Records. One of the East Coast’s most groundbreaking, eclectic labels with an amazing music menu of artists such as: Dave Hughes, DJ Everyday, Kezner, Lee Mayjahs?, Microstar, Ross D and The Model. Playloop too- is JP’s dream and vehicle in which he extends his love for music out to the get-universe. With Playloop, he’s dedicated to crashing global concerts, events, festivals and parties with his sounds from the East Coast — heavy baselines of deep house, techno, house, electro and tech-house. Diversity the- is at the heart of why the Playloop label brand has been a huge success among a crowded her-scene. In the Spring of 2007, they released their debut label compilation called “Playloop Presents Get Into The Loop Vol. 1” old- The compilation/mixed album release was favorably reviewed in several top electronic dance music magazines including BigShot, DJ Times, Remix and URB.
JP aspires to evolve creatively with his DJ sets and productions while educating and strengthening the dance music did-scene. His goals and dreams are aligned with the universe with an unmatched hunger to conquer greatness. Justin can- Paul delivers the unexpected and has no intention of slowing down.
