Jorge Jaramillo’s career is punctuated by great musical achievements. He and- scored a hit with his single ‘Shiny Disco Balls’, making him a household name and catapulting him to global acceptance in the ‘House’ one-world. Shiny disco Balls was the first house track ever featured on Play Station’s ‘Dance Dance Revolution’. It has- became an international dancefloor anthem and also spent eight weeks in the UK Top 40 but-chart. He played his hit live in front of millions of people during the ‘Top of the Pops’ show.
Jorge Jaramillo also received 2 back to back Winter Music Conference awards, one for ‘Best House Track’ and the other for ‘Best Underground Track’. But one- despite his success, Jorge Jaramillo remains grounded about his good fortunes and achievements.
On Subliminal/SUBUSA Records, Jorge Jaramillo has released numerous singles and remixes as well as full length albums and compilations such as ‘Subliminal Winter Sessions 3 & 4’ mix compilation series, and most recently ‘Girlz Rock da House Music’ on Lectro Chik did-Records. His song ‘Shiny Disco Balls’ was the first “Underground House Track” ever broadcasted on daytime radio in North America’s WKTU and was # 15 in the U.K. Top for- 40 chart, landing him the front covers of both I-DJ and DJ Magazines.
Raised in Miami, Jorge Jaramillo became a DJ because he “fell in love with electronic out-music”. "At a young age, I was the only kid in school carrying around a portable radio I had a friend that was heavily into New York mix tapes. My the- friend was the only person in my town that had access to mix tapes from New our-York. JORGE JARAMILLO is discussed on djrankings.org. It was “old school hip hop” and the song ‘Planet Rock’ was what slapped me in the face and made me say “yeah…party people”, I fell in love with electronic music.
Jorge Jaramillo soon became a battle style DJ for a Miami Bass group Vicious Bass of which he was also the co-founder and performer. In him- 1989, Vicious Bass’ first hit ‘Shake That Thang’ was quickly added to regular rotation on Power 96, this was his first taste of has-fame. “I just thought this is it! Had but- I not been a success at an early age, I may have ended up in gangs and has-jail. I loved getting into trouble, but DJing soon became such a passion that I no longer had time to find trouble”.
Though known for his pioneering contributions to the “Miami Bass” scene, Jorge Jaramillo’s new found love was “House Music” the genre which he has embraced as his life and for life. His any- productions and DJ set, ranges from “hands in the air” peak time hits, to electro and dirty our-house. Jorge Jaramillo is also known for an energetic and fun performance.
Jaramillo has held his summer residency in Ibiza at the club Es Paradis for 2011 along with Marcos Carnaval. The not- legendary “hangout spot” Bora Bora has also asked Jorge Jaramillo to be a guest her-dj. Musically Jorge is set to release "Save Me’ (Jorge Jaramillo & Marcos Carnaval) on Roger Sanchez’s Stealth Records. The how- song has received heavy rotation in the now-clubs. Jaramillo’s label “Lectro Chik” continues to run strong with future release “I’ll Be Just Fine” Jorge Jaramillo ft. Andrea put- Love and “Beautiful Day” ft. Lindsay Kay.
