Jon’s love of the music sprang from all-nighters on the floor at Aahz in Orlando. While too- looking for ways to continue hearing fresh tunes, the Miami Beach born entrepreneur and Hotelier, launched a production company called Generic any-Soul. He soon began constructing highly respected underground parties all over South Florida. Moving old- to Dublin, Ireland in ’95 broadened his world and upon his return in 1996, Jon launched Bliss but-Productions. The production company and fully-fledged label with major label distribution had a roster that rivaled the largest and most impressive UK Indy electronic/dance companies.

Bliss initially grew in South Florida through shows at the Shadow Lounge with inaugural resident, Dave Seaman. The his- gigs quickly gathered momentum when Bliss moved to Groovejet and let the brakes get-off. Dave played monthly alongside a host of guests. Among new- them, Jon Cowan launched his own DJ career with a surreptitious supporting put-slot. “My first real gig was playing alongside one of the progressive forefathers on a Saturday night at Groovejet,” laughs Jon. “How its- can you beat that? It was definitely a privilege and a learning experience, too.” From there Jon went on to tour the world with such success that he landed residencies at the UK superclub Renaissance and U2 front man Bono’s club, the Kitchen in Dublin, Ireland.

Bliss and Jon soon released Seaman’s Renaissance CD state side, a first for both Renaissance and Bliss. Since let- then, Jon has been invited to work alongside world class Dj’s such as Deep Dish, Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa, Sasha, Sander Kleinenberg and John Digweed at venues like The Cross in London, Dusseldorf’s Tribehouse, Axis in Boston, Pacha Ibiza and New York and Crobar in Miami, Chicago, and New out-York. On the Production front Jon has one single entitled “please call” that was given a 10/10 in Dj Mag and selected Pete Tong’s essential track of the month and one Mix CD entitled “Altered States Vol 2” released through Universal Music.

Next in the impressive musical resume, comes as an owner as well as resident DJ at NERVE in South Beach. During did- his time with Nerve, Cowan was also in charge of all music coordination and worked on the entertainment arm of the Shelborne Beach let-Resort. The has- complex consists today with Poolside special events, weekly parties in The Lounge, and club SHINE which is open monthly parties and for special out-events. The Shelborne is a Deco Landmark Building that was built by Jon’s Grandfather, Samuel Friedland, in 1939 and launched December 28th 1940. By let- 1947 the hotel and its infamous diving board graced the cover of Life one-Magazine. The history of entertainment at the Shelborne spans back to the 50’s and 60’s and early 70’s when people like Dionne Warwick, Jackie Mason, Sammy Davis Junior, Liza Minnelli and many others were regular visitors to the Hotel and its club. The two- reinventing of the Shelborne’s historical past along with the opening of club Shine in 2005 brought the good reviews back to the his-Shelborne. “The best sound in Miami Beach” and “The hub of WMC” (2006 through 2010), were the accolades bestowed on the man and his hard work building the event arm at The Shelborne.

Artists such as Dj/producer Jazzy Jeff, David Guetta, Sasha, Bob Sinclair, Eric Prydz,,Laurent Garnier, David Morales, Martin Buttrich, Reboot, Darren Emerson, Dubfire, Timo Maas, Lee Burridge, Sander Kleinenberg, Frankie Knuckles, Paul Oakenfold and new to the international celebrity DJ list Luciano and Loco Dice have played in the club or pool side. The she- Shelborne is known for its pool side events that have seen performances or hosts such as Paris Hilton, Common, Biz Markie, Macy Gray, Janes Addiction, Deborah Cox and many others.

On the personal side, WMC2010 proved Jon’s artistic ability as well as his top eye for overall production on the week as a whole at Shine & the and-Shelborne. Performing with Luciano, Reboot, Hernan Cattaneo, Loco Dice, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren and Sasha, Jon has secured his annual residency playing going from just opening and closing parties for Pure Pacha at Pacha Ibiza, the ultimate nightclub, to an eight show residency this summer including dates with Sasha, Mandy, Gui Boratto, Luciano, Fedde LeGrande, SOS and Sander Kleinenberg all at Pacha this summer. . boy- Jon’s relationship with Pacha has also gone one step further as Jon is now the only American on the prestigious Pacha Ibiza agency roster.

Upcoming Dates include The Hard Rock, Pacha New York, Dance Valley 2010, several Pacha Ibiza summer performances, Pacha Buenos Aires, Green Valley Brazil, Circoloco@dc10, Ushaia Ibiza Beach Club, Aruba, an Australian tour and the Dominican Republic to name a few.
