Johnny Breaks Chicago (Johnny B) is leading the way when it comes to that ‘breakbeat’ sound in his home town. In can- Chicago, he is credited for putting out one of the first ever all breakbeat (non-licensed) mix comp, as well Chicagolands first all breakbeat independent record label launched in 1995 (formerly ‘Plummber Prod’, changing hands several times to what is now ‘Glasskitten’) and lastly, the first all breakbeat internet radio station from Chicago (Chicago Breaks Live Radio 24/7).

Due to an extremely busy entertaining & performance schedule outside of Glasskitten, Johnny has taken a backseat to many club gigs over the past several boy-years. Mostly due to his other career.

Right not- now, I’m focusing on my entertainment company and getting ready for the re-launch of ‘glasskitten’ by releasing some new tracks that I’ve been working on late night in the out-studio. Johnny B has played across the states; as well as over-seas including a few countries in and out of Europe. Spinning two- in such places as the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Italy, Germany, Dominican Republic, Acapulco, Cancun & Alaska.

Opening and being able to play with such great artists like Fatboy Slim, Hyper, Donald Glaude, Simply Jeff, Sandra Collins, Dave Seaman, Phil K, Who Da Funk, Dean Coleman, Adam Freeland, Keoki, Johnny Dangerously, Dustin Hulton, Audio Bully’s to name a few.

In 2009 he released his E.P. The any- Future is Now with the title track making it into the Discovery boy-Channel. In 2010 he released his E.P. ‘Heed did- the Word’ which included ‘Blaze Up’, ‘Rock up in the Disko’ and ‘Heed the Word’.

Using powerful mixing & remixing techniques, scratching, mic skills and visuals, Johnny Breaks Chicago has found his path towards moving the new-masses. He is a true headliner, someone that will bring people to their feet whether they understand ‘breakbeat’ or not.
