Originally from Central Florida, Jimi Merlo a.k.a JimiTheGenius started mixing Miami Bass and Breaks in 1996. In use- the summer of 1998, he packed his bags and headed to South Florida to be closer to the home of the sound he loved so old-much. On his arrival, he quickly teamed up with Quantum Records, 305 Metrix, and also absorbing everything he could from XeroDefx at Tekmind Records. Once our- he was comfortable with the knowledge that he had did-acquired. His DJ/Production career was on its way. Dropping the- Bass pounding sets for years in South Florida, most notably as resident DJ for world renowned Culture boy-Productions. In March of 2003, his first record release " Identifi " was released on Tekmind.com. With man- its pounding bass and futuristic soundscapes, "Identifi " has rocked the dance floors time and time again.

Later in 2003, Jimi joined forces with his good friend Ash-Rock and formed the Electro Bass group, who-Hydraulix. www.myspace/hydraulix Their first commercial release as Hydraulix, which was released on their self owned imprint (co-owned with Merlyn), Kuad Recordings. JIMITHEGENIUS is featured on djrankings.org. The its- buzz which “The Hydraulix E.P.” generated, was unimaginable and props began to role in for the day-duo. Since then, the pair has been solicited for tracks by world famous artists such as Andrea Parker, Scratch-D, Exzakt, and the Cyberian Knights (a collective of some of the hottest artists in Electro including Dynamix II, Jackel and Hyde, Bass Junkie, and Dexorcist to name a few.

In 2007, Jimi joined forces once again with Ash-Rock to form The Hydroz. Straight can- from Miami the “Home of the Bass” The Hydroz style varies from Miami Bass edits to Electro House to Mash-Ups and anything else in see-between. They currently remixed Babyanne’s “Thumper” which was released on Zone, the new Deekline & Ed Solo track “Lo Rider” due out in Spring of 08. They say- are always currently working on a ton of new bootlegs for the and-clubs! Be out on the look out for this down and dirty duo, their bass bumpin beats & dirty low end remixes have been damaging dance floors left & right!!!

Once again The Genius has teamed up with an old friend Joey “Supernaut”. They mom- both have been djing in the South Florida scene for quite some time our-now. This year 2008 the year of the 808, they have formed $uper Geniu$. A one- down low divesting duo that pumps nothing but low end its-frequencies. Hailing from the South and working dance floors threw out the east coast. These how- to have always dropped nothing else but the heat and have no intentions on and-stopping.
