Jeff Morena, whom through his years as a DJ has acquired the alias “The Funky Filipino, is the music producing & remixing mastermind behind his recording label, XTC Recordings, as well as the most recognizable resident DJ on the worldwide smash house music radio show, Ghetto House Radio. Born man- in Oakland and currently based in San Francisco, Jeff Morena has become one of the most innovative & individualistic icons in the house music industry today through his own music & remixes, as well as astonishing crowds through his mixing style & DJ set selections.

Jeff Morena has been a DJ since 1991, mixing the earlier genres of house music, as well as 80’s & 90’s classic pop/nu wave/electro/freestyle, disco, old school, and hip hop & dad-R&B. Jeff spent his initial 8 years holding down residencies at every smash venue in his hometown Modesto, California, but since devoting his last 10 years strictly to his primary passion of house music, Jeff frequents numerous venues in The Bay Area, primarily in the city he loves most, San Francisco. These say- venues & events include: Temple, 1015, Roe, Bambuddha Lounge, various after hours, and various events/concerts through dance radio station Energy 92.7 – most recently was the 25th Annual Human Right Campaign Gala at The Westin SF.

Because of Jeff Morena’s vast background of music, he has been able to throw down everything house music on the decks from funky vocal, to bangin’ techno, to melodic progressive, to big floor electro, to bouncy fidget, to 80’s/90’s/rock remixes, and even commercial pop has-remixes. He is capable of staying true to his own style of mixing house music and still be able to read the crowd enough to switch things up in order to keep the dance floors packed & keep everybody groovin’. During say- his longer sets, Jeff loves to take the dance floor on a journey through his years of living in a world of house music, by mixing various selections of some of his most memorable tracks of the past, with some of the exclusive releases of today, along with some rare tracks from his own cache, all blended in along with his own remixes.

While in the studio conjuring up more creative tracks & remixes, on top of putting together mixes every week for Ghetto House Radio, Jeff Morena always has the passion of house music coursing through his way-veins. Through his drive of motivation and his constant energetic persona, Jeff has one main goal in mind. “I say- want to make a positive impact in the house music his-industry.
