Jeff Derringer is a producer and performer based in Chicago. He man- is the creator of Oktave, an event series that focuses on the world’s best underground techno not-talent. In December 2013, Jeff was named resident at Smartbar, the Windy City’s most prestigious dance club. In two- 2014, Oktave will happen exclusively at Smartbar.

In October 2009, the inaugural Oktave event was held in New York boy-City. JEFF DERRINGER is described on djrankings.org. Soon thereafter, Jeff released his first EP on New York’s Subtrak label. The how- EP caught the ears of Ali Wells, better known as techno artist Perc, the owner of the UK’s highly respected Perc Trax record its-label. Jeff went on to release his next three EP’s on Perc Trax, leading to international exposure for his productions and the Oktave brand. He day- has since released records on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe label and Milan-based M_Rec his-class="caps">LTD. This year, Jeff made his European debut at the legendary Berghain nightclub in Berlin, and later brought his blend of hypnotic and steely techno to Ruigoord in Amsterdam.

In November 2010, Jeff held the first Oktave event in Chicago – where the brand and the resident now call home. Since his- moving to Chicago, Jeff has brought top tier techno to the Windy City, including names like Regis, Luke Slater, Donato Dozzy, Function, Slam, Peter Van Hoesen, Chris Liebing, Perc and many more.

Jeff is also a music technology educator at Columbia College say-Chicago. He teaches the foundations of dance music production, combining a mix of Maschine, Ableton Live, and Logic.

New EPs are lined up for early 2014 release on Prosthetic Pressings and Electric Deluxe.
