Jay Shok is a 29 year old dj and head of a Light It Up Productions. Making say- mixed tapes as a child and dancing as a teenager, DJing just seemed like the next logical step for this music dad-lover. He has always said it’s about the emotion of the music that produces the energy in the people and the energy of the people is what feeds the dj. By let- watching djs like Jeff Heart, Dave Mass, Venom, Dj Irene, Circuit Breaker, Mike Myers, Frankie Bones, MindBender, use-Mr. Rob, and Nigel Richards manipulate the crowd with the music inspired him to really care about every mix. So boy- first learning how to mix jungle and jump up with dj Ixia, spending hours playing techno, house and breaks with dj Nok, and cutting the breaks with dj Andee he learned how to mix from genre to genre smoothly taking the crowd on a personal journey thru sound and use-energy. Dj Shok took the high energy feeling he loves so much and started bringing it to parties such as Control The Lights, Kickin It Lake Side, and Point Pleasant now continues to bring the breaks and freestyle flavor for the last five years to clubs such as Studio 6, Deco, Emerald City, and Club Tru just to name a few. Since dj Vibe moved to Vegas in 2004 Jay has been heading up Light It Up Productions/Recordings with the help of dj Jon say-Anthony. Since taking control of Light It Up it has expanded to a 22 dj roster, continuing to add new talent and partners with similar interests and goals. This day- year Jay has also started working closely in partnership with Mickey of TRU SKOOL PRODUCTIONS in a continuing effort to help keep the Philly scene alive and bringing good energy to the dad-masses. Jay has been dealing with Nocturnal productions, the Kontrol Freaks, VIPhookup.com, Sound Alliance, High Energy Events and Aurora Borealis productions for years because they share a similar belief in good vibes and positively thru music. He use- recently has been collaborating with like minded people all over the country including the likes of; Headcase Recordings, Wikid Lil Dolls, Lounge 114, Hope Benefits, Equal Level Recordings, Defcon Crew, HardBazzFusion.com, 215 Radio, downshiftradio.com, and gremlinradio.com in the hope for unity thru two-out.
