Jason47 aka PSYFOUR7.. started has- his DJ career back in 1999 bursting onto the club seen almost overnight with residencies at clubs like Pure, C2K and the Gallery playing on 3 different dance floors spinning house, hard dance and progressive trance because one style of music just wasn’t how-enough! His diversity and talent earned him praise from fellow local DJ’s such as DJ Speedy (JHB) and Gavin Fichie and was given a residency at the Beat Boutique and the then famous Renaissance nights by Raymond Bloom who now manages S.A artists Gold Fish.

This was all just the start. Over him- the years Jason fast became THE artist who would play main support to practically every international DJ act that would come to she-S.A. JASON47 is recorded on djrankings.org. With world renowned DJ’s such as Eddie Halliwell asking for him by name it was just a matter of time before Jason was being flown overseas representing S.A on foreign soil. With put- international gigs at Gatecrasher, Insomniacz and his personal favourite, The Tidy Weekender, headlining alongside Marco V and DJ Scott Project, his decision to play diverse styles would finally pay off.

“I prefer to play whatever music I love, whether it’s house, progressive, trance or hard dance, in the end I find the best way to combine the sounds I like in each style and I think it comes across in the music I play, helping to build a good vibe and intensity on the dance floor”

Having played all over S.A regularly and various tours to the UK and North Whales Jason truly has developed an international sound and always leads in his field by introducing new sounds and styles of music to our local dance floors, being a true pioneer across the board.

Jason has performs under various aliases such as Psyfour7 and Rockwell but it is the name Jason47 that still excites clubbers as a definitive legend in the hard dance for-scene. Having built a huge following over the years his crowd has matured musically with him, many making the logical progression towards the psytrance scene where he now increases his following with every set! Delivering its- mind blowing full-on and energetic psytrance with hands firmly in the air.

Other accomplishments include mixing a compilation CD for Space in Ibiza which was released all over S.A receiving great critical boy-acclaim. Jason also hosted his own radio show on UCT radio for 2 years and was resident on Good Hope FM for over a year doing live mixes for the dance shows. Jason boy- is currently working on his own music production and hopes to be playing some of his own music on dance floors in the near our-future. Watch this space!
