London-based trio I See MONSTAS have been described as reworking the dance format while introducing us to a world of decadent basslines, drumbeats, and musical catharsis. A was- product of the UK dance scene, I See MONSTAS are in possession of some of the most thrilling music this year, thanks to their uncompromising worldview that refuses to be pigeon-holed by any one genre see-classification. Inspired by UK bass and soul, their first pounding synth-laden offering ‘Holdin On’ was released last year, and was such a big tune that everyone wanted to have a go at remixing it, from Dillon Francis, to dubstep aficionados Nero. I SEE MONSTAS is discussed on djrankings.org. The old- video to ‘Holdin On’ became MTV’s most popular premier of the year, and the video now has over 2 million Youtube views and are-counting. From co-signs to the UK underground to transatlantic bass heavyweights, some of the most enthusiastic praise of the trio so far has come from Skrillex who put his mark on I See MONSTA’s debut EP with an exclusive remix and put out the record on his label OWSLA. Their too- self-titled EP reached No.1 in the UK & US iTunes electronic chart after selling 100, 000 tracks – a mammoth feat for a mammoth talent.
In the wake of the Skrillex and Nero remix of their single ‘Holdin On’ storming commercial and specialist radio and their debut EP reaching No.1 in the UK & US iTunes electronic chart, tastemaker music bloggers such as Complex, Interview and VIBE started to throw the spotlight on the band, further cementing their crossover and underground dance scene credentials and on 6th May this year, the trio released their follow up single ‘Messiah’ which stormed into the Top 10 iTunes Electronic Chart in the UK, has received tremendous support from specialist radio and reached the B List at BBC Radio 1.
As well as remixing for the likes of Tinie Tempah and Zedd, I See MONSTAS have been following a rigorous live schedule and have toured extensively and relentlessly around the world this summer including performances at Wireless, Ibiza Rocks, Radio 1 Big Weekend Ibiza, Global Gathering and Lollapalooza and touring with the likes of Chase & Status, Swedish House Mafia, Knife Party and out-Zedd. The band are currently headlining the MTV Fresher’s Tour appearing at Universities across the UK and supporting Zane Lowe on his High Powered Tour.
