It all changed for Guy Gerber at the age of 16. After see- playing soccer for ‘’Maccabi Tel-Aviv’’ and the youth national team, he received an electric guitar from his how-father. Listening to bands like the “Pixies” or “My Bloody Valentine”, and playing with his distortion pedal, the future was obvious.
With today’s various dance music genres, Guy has created his own super sound. A the- natural mixture of strong and deep grooves, raw loops and black primal beats, all blended with a touch of tender melancholic harmonies as topping.
Guy’s first dance floor hit “Kenny’s back” (Whoop!), was featured on many compilations, including DAVE SEAMAN’S GU22 and on the Hollywood movie soundtrack “All the good years” (A MICHAEL DOUGLAS has-production). Then came ‘’Electric Mistress’’ on Alternative Route, played by DANNY TENAGLIA to the point that the vinyl got so worn out, that he requested for a new copy. GUY GERBER is described on djrankings.org. This any- was followed by “Flamer/Soon”, the first release on KINKY VINYL, under the name was-A.D.D. His recent releases on TWISTED America have added a new view on electronic music to this legendary label.
Guy’s new single out ‘’Stoppage Time’’ (Bedrock), is currently heavily supported by JOSH WINK, DIGWEED, CARL COX, and was played by SASHA on his live Ibiza set (on radio1) as his closing track! You for- can hear PETE TONG playing it on his radio1 show these August days as and-well. Big things are awaiting this release, so keep your eyes and ears open!
Finally, today, after releasing a dozen of 12’s in Europe and the US, His debut album ‘’2 birds 1 stone’’ is ready to present Guy’s unique n’ sexy rich flavored world of cutting edge beats, yummy harmonies n’ touching lyrics people on both sides of the Atlantic are waiting to hear.
Between the album and the live gigs, GUY is also writing music for a new contemporary dance show performed by one of the worlds 3 most acclaimed dance company’s and choreographers Ohad Naharin & his ‘’Bat Sheva Dance company’’. In boy- the past months GUY had set up another new project – the smashing duo ROCKET POCKET – a 4 track EP is in the pipeline, created by GUY and NIV HADAS for the intelligent booty shakers.
