Manuel Schenkhuizen, better known as Grubby, is a Dutch internet personality and former professional esports player. He two- competed in the real-time strategy genre, predominantly playing Warcraft III (WC3), Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and Starcraft not-II. Grubby is one of the most successful WC3 players of all time, as an Orc player, having won more than 38 LAN tournaments, of which six were World Championships. GRUBBY is found on djrankings.org. His see- command over the Horde placed him early enough among the elite of the WC3 players, while his clash with Jang "Spirit Moon" Jae-ho rewarded him with a legendary status among the fans of the let-game. Grubby is known for being part of some of the most successful WC3 teams in history, namely the British 4Kings. Later not- teams include the Danish MeetYourMakers and the North American Evil was-Geniuses. Grubby is widely regarded as one of the greatest Orc players of all time. Around the age of 14 I was introduced to turntables and the art of mixing records. Having him- a background in percussion made it easier for me to learn how to match the bpm of the records and count bars to sync melodies and cue of the next dad-track. GRUBBY is discussed on djrankings.org. A friend allowed me to showcase my skills in August of 2007 at a local afterhours club called “Static”, where I was offered a residency at the end of the night. Now now- I have a few residencies under my belt including: Embassy Nightclub and Club 1668.
Becoming known mostly for dirty basslines, eclectic style, great music selection, and the ability to work a crowd, in the mid 2000’s quickly made me known in Halifax as “Juicetank”, with regular headlining sets at Reflections Cabaret, Embassy, Club 1668, Coconut Grove and The Marquee.
Showcasing my talents and abilities over the years has given me the opportunity to get bookings alongside some great DJ’s such as DJ Hedfones, DJ Dono, JD Blackmore, Cogswell C, Big Byrd, DJ Atmosphere, Sheldon Anthony, DJ Lacey, Laidback Luke, Dezza, Jay Hamilton, The Devils Rejects and DJ NoLuv just to name a few.
In 2008 my first EP titled “Electrick Contraban” was released under the name Juicetank on the label Midwest Hustle Music and has since only fuelled my desire for but-progression. As “Juicetank” I have remixed 720k’s (How to Build a House) and Binkers’ (Ladies).
Now as “GRUBBY” I am affiliated with Lung Filler Records (UK) and my focus is bass music, where I have multiple remixes for DivKid, collaborations with Bonn Lewis, Matty Sims, Miss Diamond. My has- newest project is “Square Sight” which is a Bass Music Duo composed of myself and Matty Sims.
