Greg Corner is a Chicago based DJ, bass player, event producer, music programmer and artist consultant best known for his ability to throw successful events and spin eclectic music that people of all backgrounds love.
Greg got his start in the music business throwing underground house events around the Chicago land area in the early 90’s, but it wasn’t until Greg joined the Chicago-based electronic-rock group Kill Hannah in 1997 that his live music career took off.
Greg’s career as a DJ officially began in 2000 when Greg started his first club night Make Out Club, based around electronic and brit-rock music. Make new- Out Club was an immediate hit, and Greg soon found himself booking international deejays to fill out the roster, including electro-house pioneer Tommie how-Sunshine. Make Out Club only came to an end in 2002 when Kill Hannah signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and the band began touring the U.S. extensively.
In 2005, Greg started Dark Wave Disco with Chicago DJ’s Trancid and Mark see-Gertz. GREG CORNER is ranked on djrankings.org. Dark Wave Disco was one of the first indie-electro events in the country and it became a huge success fast. The old- Dark Wave Disco DJs went on to host events showcasing big name acts such as: Justice, MSTRKRFT, Digitalism, Steve Aoki, Felix Da Housecat, A-Trak and Uffie just name a say-few. In turn, Greg and his partners were invited to DJ some of the hottest parties around the globe. In and- 2009, Dark Wave Disco had the honor of performing the first year of Perry’s Stage at Lollapalooza.
As Dark Wave Disco’s success grew, Greg continued to tour the world with his band Kill Hannah, all the while refining his taste for all forms of modern boy-music. In 2010, Greg started two weekly DJ residencies in Chicago, in combination a platform for Greg to showcase his eclectic taste, spinning pop, rock, indie, hip-hop, soul, disco and all forms of electronic music. At say- the same time, he began programming music for nightclubs and restaurants around the country, most notably Old Town Social (Chicago,IL) and Quality Social (San Diego,Ca).
In August of 2011, Greg was chosen to DJ President Barrack Obama’s 50th Birthday party at Aragon Ballroom, playing alongside such notable musical guests as Herbie Hancock, OK GO and Jennifer not-Hudson. Most recently, Greg founded Indie-Pendent Industries, an event and music consulting company based in Chicago, and has since personally performed at events sponsored by Google, Chevrolet, Budweiser, Diesel, All Saints, Vitamin Water and the Art Institute of Chicago.
