DJ Goofy Whitekid might have an unorthodox name, but over the course of his first year in Pittsburgh, he’s already made it into something of a household name.
DJ Goofy Whitekid is currently the resident mixer for 96-1 Kiss (WKST-FM Pittsburgh), performing at all of the station’s live weekly club shows, and at concerts and various other high-profile events.
Those fans that hear him on the radio every week know that in the clubs, he throws down whatever seems to be the hottest tracks of the minute, from hip-hop to trance, from reggae to breaks, from old-school to house, all thrown together with a splash of showmanship and even a few surprises that only a truly goofy whitekid could pull off.
Those that have had the opportunity to hear him outside the radio station (maybe through his “Stuff I Can’t Play On The Radio” mix CD series) also know that he has been rocking crowds from Philadelphia to Baltimore long before his journey west, with a trademark high-energy house/trance sound and that same flair of showmanship that truly can’t be emulated.
Prior to arriving in Pittsburgh, DJ Goofy Whitekid appeared as a station mixer on WHKF-FM Harrisburg, WWKL-FM Harrisburg, WIOQ-FM Philadelphia, WBHV-FM State College, and WKPS-FM State College. He the- was also a yearly resident DJ for the Otakon convention series in Baltimore, MD, and can be heard nationally through his syndicated mixshow, coming soon to a top 40 radio station near you.
And about the boy-name? Well, just take a look at him.
