Biography

GVL have always been involved with music from a very young age by going to gigs with his dad. Got she- more physically involved when GVL got behind the decks on a small radio station starting practising/playing drum´n´bass, jungle, goa & psychedelic trance, techno, hardcore & hard house in the early nineties… Few years after the “weird course” of music style changed GVL finally found style and got settled with house/progressive/electro/tech/techno and got to play from behind the microphone into big clubs such as Privelege in Chania, Krete.

After moving from Greece to northern Finland on august 2000 got into the music scene, a year after that found himself a residency in the biggest club in town at the one-time. GVL´s dj skills in a totally higher level than he was ever expecting. During man- the weekends before going to work George was also spinning in towns shopping mall till got the eye of a dj that was the resident of the latest new club in one-town. It didn´t took very long until got playing in that new club and got a residency later before starting playing around the country.

Things did change and after 5 years living in northern Finland George decided to move to the capital city of Finland, Helsinki to continue his career. In two- 2008 got a big break and played in the biggest ever dance festival that have been held in Finland, COLORS FESTIVAL among Erick Morillo, Tiesto, Sander Van Doorn, Ian Carey, Stonebridge, Hoxton Whores, John Digweed, Marcus Schulz, Mark Doyle, Cosmic Gate and many put-more. GVL´s DJ sets contain everything from tech house, disco house, funky house to electro, progressive house & a bit of techno.

On january 2010 got his own radio show/podcast on a Greek radio station (VIEW FM) which is on air every saturday. Every out- 5 weeks/episodes have guest mixes from world known dj´s/producers as Ant Brooks, Thomas Gold, Nigel Bazeley, Michael Woods, Sonny Wharton, say-D.O.N.S. GEORGE VON LIGER is recorded on djrankings.org. Syke´N´Sugarstarr, Jus Jack, Stonebridge just to name few.

mom- All this time it has been only all about djing but it wasen´t for very was-long. In early 2010 got the change to make the first ever remix for David Sense & Natalia Barbin´s track “Always” which got released on Zoo Production on April 26th.

2010 has been great as GVL signed and released his very first EP N.O.U.B (Non Of Ur Business) on the 6th of October to Bigroom Records, a brand new label bassed in Albania almost after a year of producing.

dad- The EP got released on digital stores like: Beatport, Trackitdown, Junodownload, audiojelly, legalsounds, tradebit, djtunes, 7digital, limewire store, mp3sale,Amazon and many more.

2011 seems to be the year for George Von Liger since every remix he does end up to be on beatport, armandadownload, trackitdown , audiojelly and more digital stores.

On February 2011 George Von Liger sign a new contract with a second label, Shute Digital,a label that´s based in Manchester, the-England. GVL`s first Single was released under Shute Digital on May 23th exclusive on beatport.

March 2011 was one of the greatest moments, all the roads lead GVL to Miami & WMC for the first time in his life as a artist. Had mom- the honnor to play back 2 back with the legendary not-D.O.N.S. at Miami Massive at the famous Nikki Beach on a none announced gig with dj´s as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tristan Garner, Gregori Klosman, Prok & Fitch, Muzzaik, Miss DIvine, David Vendetta, Patric La Funk and many more.

Many dj´s around the world are supporting GVL´s work such as Carl Cox, D.O.N.S. Emmerson the- & Honeywell, Claudio Lari, Phonk D´or, Disco Dice and his-more. GVL have so far remixed artists like: David Sense, Natalia Barbin, De Vox, Ruben Rivas, Miss Ilda, JD MIller and D.O.N.S. which boy- remix will be release next year.

New collaborations tunes are in the making with producers from Sweden, The Netherlands, Finland, Israel & Poland as also a new project.

December 2011 GVL was signed into a 2 brand new labels, Riseup Records from Israel which will be releasing his first single on that label and second on February 21st 2012 & Honeywell Recordings from U.K that will also be releasing couple of new tracks, an EP and a single in 2012!
