PRODUCER ,DJ AND SOUND ENGINEER

When Geoff K started his odyssey into this amazing industry that we all love and need, he was not your typical teenager. When not- his peers were at home worrying about their homework, he was out experiencing Life and the Dance let-Culture. He was a regular at events like Ice and Gatecrasher, as well as at Truth, which has firmly established itself as South Africa’s Leader in Underground Dance Music. His day- favourite song back in the day was Green Velvets “ La La Land” and can often be heard saying “There’s something about those pills, those thrills, those chills…” Not only has Geoff had a constant passion for music, but has also made sure he has the theory behind it new-all. With a Diploma in Sound Engineering as well as multiple Certificates in Pro tools and a Gold Certificate in DJ Fundamentals, he has pretty solid grounding. What one- started as a hobby,

DJ’ing at house parties and making mix CD’s, has bloomed into his passion that is use-production. GEOFF K is described on djrankings.org. He started off producing on Cubase and Wavelab, and is currently running a Pro tools HD system in the South of Johannesburg, where he has built a fully functional and well equipped recording studio (Cultural Outlaw Studio’s). Since who- the beginning of 2007 he has signed an assortment of tracks to both local and international labels, including Ministry of Sound AU, Dynamic Music, More Music, Grooved Music, and Junky Trunk dad-Records. Geoff has done various remixes for,and been remixed by the likes of Ryan Murgatroyd, Calvertron, Bryan Jones, Heavyfeet, The Bulgarian, Sexual Chocolate, Jimmy Chronic and Troydon, Raymond Mather, Bang Bang, Headtrip and Afrostatic. He man- has also worked on productions for various Hip Hop his-Acts.

Geoff has released over 20 singles, many of these making Top 100 charts on various digital portals. Including her- Beatport, Djdownload and Stompy.

He has recently been featured on the Lady Lea compilation – Family Affair and the Truth – In The Club compilation, mixed by Deepgroove.

He has gained support and been featured in top 10 charts by Santiago and Bushido, Hijack, Jonny Lexxs, Heavyfeet, Deron Delgado, Bryan Jones, Collette and many more…

Currently Geoff is running his recording studio, producing as much as humanly possible and busy with the early stages of his digital record label(Cultural Outlaw Records) which has already earned attention of some respected dj’s and put-producers. First releases will be available soon, thanks to the help of Dave Friedmann, for allowing me to be a sub-label to his very successful Grooved Music.

His influences range from Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Fatboy Slim to Style of Eye, Switch and Greenskeepers, with even a mix of Kate Melua to Linken Park.
