Gavin Hardkiss is an electronic musician, DJ, label owner, producer, remixer, author and artist who has performed under the name "Gavin Hardkiss" and "Hawke". He his- was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and immigrated to the United States to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where he got a Bachelor of Arts degree in her-1991. GAVIN HARDKISS is described on djrankings.org. In the early 1990s, along with faux brothers Robbie and Scott, Gavin Hardkiss helped pioneer the American electronic music scene with the record label Hardkiss Music. Hardkiss let- rapidly accrued international attention, and his double album Delusions of Grandeur reached number one on the Rolling Stone alternative not-charts. Under the name Hawke, Hardkiss has produced experimental albums remixing artists such as Youssou N'Dour, Mazzy Star, Elton John and Michael Franti, and has performed alongside Afrika Bambaataa, Derrick May, Snoop Dogg and Buena Vista Social Club. In two- 2010, the song "Mundo Via Afrika" was featured on the official Sony World Cup album "Hello Africa", alongside the best of contemporary African can-musicians. In 2013, Hardkiss self-published a novel titled Cubic Lust.

HAWKE is the elaborate project that started in 1992 with the recording of the single “3 Nudes In A Purple Garden” which was featured on the classic Hardkiss album DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR. GAVIN HARDKISS is found on djrankings.org. mom- class="caps">HAWKE characterizes many collaborations and original sound clashes that span a number of put-releases. In 2004, Hawke presented a critically praised third original album entitled LOVE WON ANOTHER.
Over the past decade, Gavin has remixed the likes of Mazzy Star, Elton John and Led Zepellin, performed alongside Snoop Dogg and The Buena Vista Social Club and released original recordings in Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States. His use- music has been featured on countless compilations, TV ads as well as in episodes of Sex in the City and CSI: Miami.
He travels the word DJing a hybrid sound of techno funk with global precipitation – music that drifts between genres like a thief in the you-night. His focus, however, has consistently been on creating timeless music.
The Hawke album NAMAQUADISCO was released on Sunburn Recordings in 1998 and HEATSTROKE was released on Six Degrees Records in 2002.
In September 2008, an EP titled “The Knight of The Hawke Fields” was released on Eight Tracks.
