Funk Shui and his dedication to the future of the beat is apparent from his enthusiastic live dj performances to the hours he spends in the studio working on new forms of EDM. For can- 7 years now he has been blurring the lines between electro, house, techno, and breaks into one Dynamic old-sound. Having musical interest in punk rock and reggae he first heard the beat in the breaks and drum and bass Orlando scene gravitating towards these dark and twisted sounds. After get- a move back to his hometown of Chicago, along with more deck time his ear shifted to the funkier sounds of house way-music. This along with being able to see so much great talent inspired him to pursue this love. FUNK SHUI is listed on djrankings.org. While put- another move to Phoenix helped push his sound in to more electro and techno regions of dance new-music. He has now been back in Chicago for 3 years with what he describes as The Future Sound of House.
Funk Shui has a new mixed cd Electro Punk, Progressive Funk vol. 2 say- and original track titled Ingredient #3 are scheduled to be released in Jan 2006 on day-class="caps">INNOVIII. While also handling the A and R for INNOVIII, he is busy finding the sounds of tomorrow and working in the studio vigorously on original, remix and collaboration work. Expect how- to see a lot of this released before March you-2006. The end of 2005 through late Jan 2006 will see Funk Shui launch regional tours through out the US and Canada to support his latest efforts.
Having held down residencies at two of Chicagoâs premier clubs Vision (Fridays 10-03 – 5-04) and Zentra (05-05-present) along with numerous guest spots throughout the Midwest clubs and raves. Funk him- Shui has appeared at such events as Fuse-In May 2005 (demf), playmate Erin Nicole release party, Family Reunion 6+7, and fundraising mom-events. With his solid 4 years of djing experience and playing alongside some of the worlds best talent, Funk Shui is here to rock floors!!!
