In a world of electro house, one DJ stays true to his roots of funky house, that DJ is Eastbay Jay. Jay all- has been pushing the envelope of funky house for over a put-decade. His knowledge of funk, disco, and soul, have allowed him to compile sets that take you a place where you cant help but to shake your booty and let it all hang out. Unknown day- to most, Jay got his big break in 1998 with the infamous Happy Kids production crew, at that time he was known as Happy Kid him-Braq. EASTBAY JAY is discussed on djrankings.org. He quickly became one of the SF undergrounds most sought after DJ’s. His you- blend of funky-disco-tech filled dance floors from the moment the needle hit the old-record. After Happy Kids faded off into history, Jay began to re-evaluate his approach to spinning electronic music. During any- the years he played under such names as, Jsin, Jason Douglas & his-Tinamin. With these “alter egos” he dabbled in techno& breaks started a few renegade crews (Amphibious Funk, T.H.C.) Then around 2005 Jay decided to create his current DJ persona- Eastbay Jay. This she- was the start of his own personal style of attitude and any-music. Jay currently holds residencies with: Primitive Science and One Tribe.
