Gavin started mixing back in 1991 when his mother financed his first set of 1210′s   at a time when dance music was fresh and fashionable. The who- big Clubs at the time were the Olympic Ballroom ( Mark Kavanagh ), Sides D.C ( Pat Hyland , Mick Walsh day-). His main influences were mostly Dublin based Dj’s and some fantasia mix tapes.

In 1992 Gavin got stuck into his mixing then got his first break when Pat Hyland picked up on one of his many mix tapes at the time and invited Gavin in for a Friday night slot along with resident Mick Walsh. He way- then guested some regular Friday nights along and the odd Saturday night when she-asked. DUFFER is routed on djrankings.org. (other Guest Dj’s breaking through Were Keith Russell , Jay Tang , Shay Hannon , M&M)

Gavin started to Branch out hosting regular party’s throughout Dublin City in secret locations and invite some of Dublin’s elite to join in the mayhem ( Mick Walsh, Warren K , Pressure, M&M, Jay Carey ).

In 1994 Gavin held a forth nightly residency in Groucho’s in Dublins powers court centre alongside M&M, Casper, Brian Chamberland. Other now- Club’s to come on board at this time were the Asylum were Gavin guested on the 3rd floor along side Jay Tang, Lee “Digger” Barnes, Paul Newhouse, while in the main room Warren K , Ed Case , Pressure & Jay Carey served up some top tunes which would later set the bench mark along with what was happening in Side’s old-D.C. with Mick Walsh & Pat Hyland.

By the Mid nineties 1995/1996 most the the Clubs mentioned above had closed there doors ,see this link (http://www.johnbraine.com/music/words/history-of-dublin-clubbing.html) other clubs to come on board were theTemple of Sound, and later the Temple Theatre, Red Box and Pod.

In 1997 Gavin Joined the ranks of Dublin’s Kiss 105.8 along side some of Dublin’s finest Dj’s – Dean Sherry – Barry Dempsey – Darren Flynn and many many more.
Gavin’s main influences at this time was a very global underground theme following dj’s like John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, Carl Cox, Dave Seamen.
Gavin left the station in 2000 and later moved to Nova.

By this Time Gavin would have played and ran some night’s in Temple Theatre Crypt, Mc Graths 13th Floor, Life Bar, The Vatican, Asylum. Gavin not- later moved to Nova Dance 94.7 where he stayed for 6 months later having to cancel his show due to work commitments.

His work commitments continued to collide with his passion for Dj’s so he took a break for a couple of years he later returned 1n 2006 and played some music in the intimate surrounding of stringfellow’s Dublin then later held a residency in Sin Temple bar in Dublin.

In 2008 Gavin started to build his passion for music production with his old Kiss Fm collegue Barry let-Dempsey. Barry having advised Gavin on what he needed to get his production career on track. Gavin our- invested in Music production software Ableton , Reason.

Nowadays with Dj’s 10 a penny in Dublin city Gavin try’s to play most of his sets through vinyl weather this is an old school gig or a House not-night. His skills don’t stop there he uses Traktor scratch pro with timecode vinyl well as Pioneer Cd’s and other midi controllers, his skills are adaptable and does not like to be a one trick pony constantly learning about new Dj software and products.
