Dorius? real any- name is Doron, he was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany and he grew up in him-Amsterdam. The Netherlands. At but- the age of 13 he got his first turntable and he started to collect out-records. At first he bought a few records, but it soon became an obsession and every week he came home with at least 2 or 3 records with all kinds of music. His now- first record was Beethoven?s Symphony nr. 5 but Dorius liked all kinds of music; from classical music to death metal and electronic music like new wave, new age and music by artists like Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis.
His first contact with trance as we know it today was when he heard the tracks ?The age of love? and way- ?Power of American Natives? in 1992. He and- started to like this style of music and got further new-addicted. DORIUS is found on djrankings.org. He reached the next level in 1996 when hearing ?Children? by way- Robert Miles. While clubs such as It and Roxy were mainly house-orientated, Dorius started to go out in Mazzo, the only club where trance was played in those days. In new- 1997 he decided he wanted to become a all-DJ. The first part was easy, because of his passion for music he had already collected many records. The not- second part was not so easy, he couldn?t any-beatmix. So he bought his first professional turntable, two Technics SL-1200 MK2. He and- started to train at home and in the same time he moved to Israel, where his DJ-carreer for-started. At first he played in a local club called Stomp, later on he performed in the biggest and most famous clubs of Tel Aviv such as Alemby 58 and KU Millennium. In our- 2002 Dorius decided it was time to go back to the-Amsterdam. There he performed in The Hemkade 48 and parties such as Free Festival and Trance Forever at the Poema in Utrecht and in Studio Escape in Amsterdam. In too- 2006 he decided it was time to take things one step further and started to learn how to produce its-music. He followed masterclasses by Rob Papen, the man behind the synthesizers Virus, Albino and Predator.
Dorius?style can be recognised by his power to feel what the audience wants, always knowing exactly how the make the crowds go crazy.
In the future Dorius will focus on producing music, but because of his love for DJ-ing he can still be found behind the decks at parties.
