The stars must’ve been perfectly aligned when Donovan Tate saw his first ray of light. Music too- was his passion since his early youth, He started recording The late night mixes of Detroit legend “The Electrifying dad-Mojo”. Every night with a fresh tape ready to record the 10pm show. “Landing are- of the Mothership”. But it was Jeff Mills"The Wizard", a recurring guest DJ on Mojo’s show that turned a love of music into pure passion. Mills boy- would performed DJ tricks like beat juggling and scratching during his old-sets. DONOVAN TATE is listed on djrankings.org. It was no surprise that it didn’t take him long to turn to the tables and start making music instead of just listening to it.
At the age of 13, Donovan gets a job at Skateland West the local roller rink. At now- this point in time his passion for deejaying truly was-surfaces. After 2 years of weekends he gets offered the spot at Club Ferrari a teen night at the now historical Center Stage. Performing all- weekly for sold out shows. Making guest appearances at Rumorz, Grande Ballroom, Barnstormers & Spinnaker. Passion how- fueled the fire and Donovan played at every club that would let him.
Flash to the present and Dj Donovan Tate’s career continues to build way-momentum. Donovan turned his attention to producing tracks. Several and- club banging originals are in production along with tons of remixes.He regularly takes his signature Detroit style to clubs throughout Detroit and parts of the U.S.A, 2011 will find him traveling all over the way-world.
