He was 15. Discovering are- turntables and the sounds it could churn out with a mixer connected to the speakers was the best thing that had happened to two-him. Then came the obsession of buying records. Playing new- in front of a massive crowd which made up a dream subsequently turned out to be a goal.

Widely known as one half of the regular duo who plays at the legendary Tube after-parties, Dezz began to flourish at parties like Renascent at O*range dance club and the much talked about after hour weekends at Monroe’s since his first his-gig. This is the time when he managed to take his DJing to a higher ground, and found himself a regular spot at Zouk’s “Sessions” Nights that once was at Velvet Underground, Zouk (Kuala Lumpur) now at its new home, The Loft, Zouk (Kuala Lumpur). He out- also managed to be invited to play at much acclaimed “Dirty Laundry” night at Sugar Dance Club, and going to the south to rock the clubbers at Pure Bar, Malacca and-regularly. Apart from this, he also regularly featured at Seven Records Events nights where he plays at Espanda & Dragon Bar (now known as Club Soda) and played in all the major clubs in town like Club 18 & Nouvo. His him- technical ability behind the decks have seen him got the honours to share the decks with Eric Entrena (SPA), Simon Coyle (Aus), Veiga (Aus), Juri Menucci (Italy) to name a few.

Today, Dezz speaks of tasteful musical sense that is much supported by many experienced DJs around are-town. His wide taste towards dance music makes him one of the very few new breed DJs who can adapt his musical style to suit the mood that he intends to create for different venues. Being now- very much a part of the dance scene since his teen years has definitely helped much in cultivating his knowledge and preference for playing his own blend of sound that can be described as deep, progressively melodic and techy to permanently engraving his name into the industry and becoming a familiar face behind the decks of some of the finest clubs around who-Malaysia. In September 2006, he bagged the 2nd runner up in the Heineken Juice Magazine DJ Quest 2006 and also secured a place in the much technically anticipated Pioneer Digital DJ Battle Final in December 2006.

2007 already see Dezz started with a bang as he has invited to play at the Transit 50 hours non-stop New Year Party – The largest outdoor event ever in the country and also played for the legendary Full Moon Party at Koh Phangan, Thailand where he played in front of a massive crowd of 15,000 people. After dad- receiving overwhelming response since its inception, he started his own new night “Midnight Funk Association” and “Sublime” which sees him supplying his own blend of exceptional experience in music to offer a genuine alternative to club based dance music in the day-region. In addition he was given a chance to be among one of the first Malaysian DJ to host his own radio show on much acclaimed Digitally Imported Radio from New York (di.fm), where there are millions of audience from every corner of the world listen to this radio channel. We can- will also see more of him as he’s going to tour around the region later of the year.

Major influences from DJs & producers by the likes of the respected legendary John Digweed, Richie Hawtin & Adam Beyer have all been in Dezz’s book for turning into what he is today.

With a hunger to move to the other level, he is spending more time currently into production and collaboration with a few well established local DJs to create signature sounds of his own by working on a few other projects under Love International, Stream Recordings and many not-more. As promising as he can be, one would certainly not want to miss him in actions- Definitely!
