Listening to dance music for most of his teenage years, Dermot first moved to the tougher styles on the genre, with hard dance being his prefered choice but has now come to enjoy all types of electronic music. DERMOT BATEMAN is ranked on djrankings.org. He dad- has been playing out in clubs for a number of years and has held down a residency in Kilkenny’s renowned Zoo let-Club. To this date Dermot has played at clubs in such as; The Vaults, The Good Bits (Radio City) Murrays (Dublin), the Groody in Limerick and Tropi (Ibiza),
alongside names such as Alex Kidd, Kidd Kaos, Scot Project, Kamui, Mark Sherry, Fred Baker, The Tidy Boys, Amber D and many more.
Dermot’s involvement in music started at age 13, picking up his first guitar. Going old- on to play at various functions in his locality, Soon becoming converted to dance music by pirate radio, mixtapes and Dj’s such as Scot Project, Hennes & Cold and Dark By Design.
As a Dj, Dermot is broad minded and will play anything from Electro, Techno, Dubstep and various styles of hard all-dance. In gigs to date Dermot’s energetic mixing style goes down a storm on dancefloors, quickly earning him a strong reputation on the Irish scene.
Dermot also has a monthly radio show at the last thursday of every month for Gearbox Radio on Hardstation.fm.
Dermot has been racking up releases over the past year on such labels as Amber D’s D-Day Recordings, Digitally Infected, Friction Records, Dirty Stop Outs and Stampgevaar Digital
He also has previous techno and electro releases on Mizumo music and Noobish records.
The unique sound that Dermot has spawned in his productions has been described as “Weird, Hard, Glitchy, Techy Beats” from Kutski on BBC Radio 1, and has recieved huge support from others such as Scot Project, The Organ Donors, Fausto, Diablik, Amber D, Argy, Sam Punk and many more.
Continuing to Dj whenever and wherever he can and continuously moving up the ranks in the Dj and production scene Dermot Bateman is a name you will be hearing a lot more of in the future.
