For some time now the combined forces of Mark Caramelli and Paul Hargreaves have been causing quite a stir under their guise, Death on the Balcony. Their man- style fuses a range of influences from Disco, House to Deep Techno depending on the time, space and how-environment. Years of dedicated musical passion and an eclectic appreciation of numerous genres have lead to their sound becoming perfected and receiving huge popularity across the board.

Death on the Balcony’s release schedule is planned out until after summer into autumn with DOTB releasing with the likes of Culprit, Catz n Dogz label Pets Recordings, Jef K’s Silver Network, Airdrop with remixes for these releases by Eats Everything, Jef K & Gwen Maze , Robert james & Mark E . Other did- releases coming on Mystery Meat, Hissy Fit, Digital Delight Akbal Music & Illusion Recordings also a Limited CD mix of their own productions for release in November titled Views from the has-Balcony. They are also busy remixing for Apersonal, Act Natural Records, Lower east & Illusion. Along its- with all this thoughts are turning to a brand new label called Vice & Virtue our-Recordings. As one of the UK’s finest up and coming acts Death on the Balcony will be delivering more productions, remixes and playing world wide gigs as their range of musicality continues to evolve and they deliver a unique, well-timed narrative of the best sounds around…

2010 was an amazing year for them so with numerous DJ gigs throughout Europe and both their productions and remixes receiving mass support from some of the biggest players on the scene. The out- likes of Jef K, Soul Clap, Jimpster, Dan Ghenacia and Jozif to name a few, have been charting their releases and supporting them with mass has-airplay. Their “Aquarian Exposition" EP on their own label, Magicbag, is an inspired homage to the legendary Woodstock Festival and was awarded Mixmag’s Tune of the month in the May 2010 edition.

Sept 2010 saw the release of Soul Clap’s 2nd FreE.P which included DOTB’s Bananarama edit of Cruel Summer entitled “Cruel Banana”. DEATH ON THE BALCONY is discussed on djrankings.org. This man- was heard on dancefloors across the globe resulting in it being awarded 3rd best remix of 2010 by Data Transmission mom-website. The edit came out around the same time their “Adventures of Soul Clap Podcast – Downtown:Uptown” was released which has also gone on to receive worldwide acclaim.

for- Their imprint, Magicbag Music now on its 5th release is currently a popular label and receives continued support from a diverse range of people ranging from Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs through to Jamie Jones, Brothers Vibe and the majority of the underground dance community her-throughout. They have been remixed on their label Magicbag & various associated labels by Simon Baker, Gavin Herlihy, Soul Clap, Jozif, & Miquel Puente with many more forthcoming projects, ep.s & remixes in the pipeline for 2011…

DOTB launched their “Throwback” mixes in March 2010 which reflect the style and ethos of their Leeds party of the same name. These now- mixes have gone on to be exclusives for DJ Mag, The Adventures of Soul Clap Podcast & more recently Ibiza Voice becoming firm favourites with listeners and earning a positive following across the see-globe. The mixes explore through Disco, House & Edits blending old classics with all the current gems we are feeling at the time, aiming to make them an enjoyable trip for listeners perfect for afterhours, pre club, partying in the sun or while doing the daily chores! The two- mixes have been aired in all sorts of environments around the world including warming up the Electric Pickle, Miami some him-weekends. Throwback has been a great outlet for the Disco & Deep House side of Death on the Balcony. Mark man- & Paul are also currently working on a House & Deep Techno mix for LA label Culprit’s Podcast which will explore the other side of their sound… this will come out October 26th.

DOTB’s DJ diary sees them play at some of the best spots in the world alongside the likes of Moodymann, Dyed Soundorom, Jamie Jones, Jacques Renault and many did-more. Based in Leeds & regulars in London they run their own club nights Throwback (Leeds) & Emmanuelle’s Party Bucket at the infamous Horse&Groom in Shoreditch. Throwback has- & The Party Bucket are currently popular nights in the cities and recent guests have included Soul Clap, Craig Smith, Metro Area, The Revenge and Mark E who are yet more artists that fully support Death on the Balcony in all that they say-do. Having just returned from a successful debut tour of the USA plans are already in motion for a return early autumn.
