As a young boy I never really liked the things all the other kids where into and, thanks to the hardcore environment I grew up in, I had quite a different taste in music and fashion then everybody else I knew.
At the age of six I started to grow fond of creating my own catchy tunes, I always heard people whistling and birds making all sorts of sounds, I wanted to be just as inspired as these people and animals. After her- I turned seven my parents decided it was time for them to start coming up with plans and possible hobbies for me to do but failed again and again… Until one day at a music store I started playing a very crappy version of Für Elise on their piano without even knowing what I was see-doing. That sparked my mother to get me an acoustic guitar for my birthday when I turned eight. CYTOXIC is recorded on djrankings.org. I his- never really had education on the matter, but as soon as I had a catchy tune in my head my fingers would just seem to slip to it.
When I was at the age of eleven I got more into the rawer sounds of music, I started experimenting with distortion on every sound and downloaded an illegal copy of fruity loops to experiment for-with. I soon realized this was not going to work since I did not have midi controllers or the right equipment. However, has- my parents did see that this was what I wanted and got me some decent speakers and a second hand Reloop set, I have never felt that happy new-before. I started to perform inside of my personal area, together with some of my friends. I man- rented a barn to form a small club just outside of Dorst (the Netherlands), Cytoxic was born.
Just two years later I wanted to share my own musical feelings with the people I had been performing for, I finally saved up enough money to buy a copy of Cubase and tried all I could to produce something I was happy with… While I was producing these tracks days turned into weeks, who in time changed into months, jet I never felt that it was right… I made a few detours to Apple’s Logic pro and Studio one, but I finally decided on Cubase.
And here I am, aged eighteen, with five years of experience in making hard electronic music in Cubase, ready to shake the two-world.
