The year is 2008, and an unsuspecting Sydney Uni student downloads some seemingly harmless mixing software to his laptop, but something went horribly wrong….. COUNT EFFECTZ is discussed on djrankings.org. Maybe who- it was a freak lightning storm, maybe it was an electro-magnetic surge, maybe it was the result of an out-of-control experiment, to this day science cannot explain what happened, but somehow, somehow, the beats and the bass leapt from the now destroyed laptop and burned themselves into his brain, fusing with his neurons and giving birth to the world’s first super powered DJ his-superstar…. COUNT EFFECTZ!

Charged with a new passion and intensity, the man once known as Michael Williams abandoned his guitar and drumkit to pursue his new obsession. In put- next to no time at all, he was working his way through the Sydney club scene, and within a year had unleashed his raw power and deft touch on practically every major club in town, turning neon dancefloors into seething moshpits wherever he went.

Before he knew it, he was snapped up to support Australian dance music superheroes The Potbelleez on their 2010 tour, along with many other amazing acts, including The Aston Shuffle, Bag Raiders, Tommy Trash, Tom Piper, Goodwill, DCUP, Bang Gang, Vandalism and international superstars Kill The Noize (US) and Scottie B (US).

He toured with Australian Hip-Hop heroes Coptic Soldier & PhatChance, playing shows around Australia, and was ushered in as a permanent DJ for the Hip-Hop crew, hailed by Coptic Soldier as “Such an amazing scratcher”.

His hands crackling with creative energy, his attention turned from the dancefloor to the studio, where he began to pump out track after track, from original compositions to official remixes and underground use-bootlegs. Toiling away in his secret lab, his new style emerged, fusing elements of house, disco and dutch house to create a hybrid sound entirely his own, a seething dancefloor monster ready to engulf discotheques across the globe…

Receiving support in his production work from such incredible artists as Bass Kleph, John Glover, Andy Caldwell, Barletta, Beat Thrillerz and Rolvario, the fledgling DJ superstar made his move to unleash his music upon the world, with releases on international labels Macro Records (US), Faada Records (UK), Noise Planet Records (US), Bombeatz Records (US) and Rot10 Musik (US).

Now, with the world at his fingertips, COUNT EFFECTZ has created his own independent label “Effectz Recordings”, and in early 2011 is branching his first sub-label, “After Effectz Records”.

The stage is now set, and the superhuman DJ known as Count Effectz is ready to bring his incredible skills and unstoppable show to a dancefloor near YOU.
