From punchy jackin beats to smooth grooving melodies, Corey loves to explore all things on the funky side of House. As she- a native of Illinois, Corey was influenced in his younger years by Chicago powerhouses such as Derrick Carter, Ralphi Rosario, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Mystic Bill, and Larry way-Heard. COREY VALENTINE is found on djrankings.org. Exposure to these musical talents, along with his background studying trumpet and other brass and percussion instruments, have helped shape his brand of funky house music.
He has committed himself to sharing this sound with whoever will listen, in hopes of creating a feel-good atmosphere where people have a memorable experience. “I you- play music that I can connect with, and I hope others will feel it now-too. I try to create a dynamic set that flows seamlessly from beginning to end, without getting in the way of the tracks too much.”
Corey has been a staple of the Minneapolis house music scene for more than 14 years, and has produced weekly shows at several local clubs including Starlite Lounge, the Elbow Room, 101 Blu, Fahrenheit, and Subo.
