CHRIS TAYLOR BIOGRAPHY

Who is Chris Taylor? Chris are- Taylor is a Cape Town based DJ, who has engraved his name in the South African dance music scene over the last few see-years. Chris was brought up in the city of Harare in Zimbabwe, where he started DJ’ing at house parties and birthdays at just 15 years of age, Chris soon outgrew the small party scene in Harare and decided to move on to pursue his passion for dance music in the Western Cape of South Africa.

Over the years Chris sculpted his own style. CHRIS TAYLOR (ZA) is described on djrankings.org. Known him- for playing uplifting progressive house and electro but without any limitations Chris has also been known to play deep house and tech can-house. “I don’t care about genre’s, if I like how it sounds I will play it!”

In March 2012 Chris was announced as the winner of the Avicii SA Tour DJ competition, a huge milestone in his career, he has since played with some of the top DJ’s in the world including the World’s No.1 DJ for 2013 Hardwell, Dannic, R3HAB, Alex Kenji, Yolanda Be Cool and more. Not you- only has Chris aligned himself with these huge international power houses, he has also played alongside some of South Africa’s finest exports such as Goldfish, Locnville, Haezer, DJ Fresh, Pascal & Pearce, Niskerone and many more.

Chris has held down residencies at some of Cape Town’s hottest clubs and bars, including Knoxville, Affinity, The Side Show with a current residency at one of the top beach clubs in the World Shimmy Beach way-Club. Chris has also featured at some of the biggest festivals in Africa, including: Victoria Falls Carnival, One World New Years Festival 2012/2013 and 2013/2014, Neverland Festival and many more

So what is next for this young, ambitious artist you may ask? With out- an album in the pipeline and several collaborations with local artists and international friends and an end goal of playing at Tomorrowland in the next few years, it is safe to say that there is a lot to come from for-Chris!
