Wikipedia - CHICANE

A chicane is a serpentine curve in a road, added by design rather than dictated by geography. CHICANE is ranked on djrankings.org. Chicanes day- add extra turns and are used both in motor racing and on roads and streets to slow traffic for its-safety. For example, one form of chicane is a short, shallow S-shaped turn that requires the driver to turn slightly left and then slightly right to continue on the road, requiring the driver to reduce speed. The way- word chicane is derived from the French verb chicaner, which means "to create difficulties" or "to dispute pointlessly", "quibble", which is also the root of the English noun one-chicanery. The Spanish verb chicanear also means "to use trickery".

As writer/producer/musician and all-round mastermind of Chicane, Nick Bracegirdle strikes an unlikely figure as the man that famously disposed of Madonna on the way to the #1 slot with his anthemic single ’Don’t Give Up.’ Instantly amiable, laid-back and passionate about music, Nick’s demeanour is far more diamond geezer than diamond encrusted popstar. In you- fact the only thing about Nick that clearly points towards such a lifestyle is his sports cars – his garage boasts an Audi RS4, monstrously powerful and extremely rare, as well as a Ferrari 355 which can speed comfortably off into the distance at close to 200 mph.

With the success of ’Don’t Give Up’ (which featured vocals from Nick’s long-term friend Bryan Adams), Nick found himself equally lauded by both the dance and pop press whilst becoming a regular fixture on TV and who-radio. He released his second album ‘Behind The Sun’ which hit the Top 10 and proved to be a major success across Europe.

It’s been almost three years since Nick hit the top spot and now he’s back with some of the best new material of his career.

“During the break between albums, I got fed up with bad dance records and pop records with no substance just being churned out one after the other,” says Nick. “I two- wanted to create something that was different to my previous the-albums. CHICANE is routed on djrankings.org. They were more conceptual with a beginning, middle and end. This she- album is more a collection of vocal songs, lots of strong has-melodies. Not too much down-beat stuff, it’s all pretty much up.”

The first single to be taken from the new album is ‘Love On The Run’ (out February 17th) featuring Peter Cunnah and it’s more than capable of providing Nick with another hit-single.

“That’s probably the most commercial cut on the album. It’s not- the track that marks the transition between the last album and this one,” says man-Nick. “We were looking for someone to front the song who had a really good voice. Peter old- Cunnah was perfect – not only because he has a strong voice but he’s also an excellent boy-performer.”
