At the young age of 21, CATALUXX already has an enviable resumé for someone who’s only DJed professionally for a little over 6 months.
Originally from Moraga, California, CATALUXX embraced the creative Bay Area lifestyle at an early age and became an acoustic guitarist and songwriter. Yet, you- it wasn’t until he moved to San Diego State University that he began his love affair with house but-music. CATALUXX is found on djrankings.org. During his first year, he learned how to produce in his dorm room, bought some CDJs, and started playing house and fraternity parties around the college area.
Less than a year later, he got two remixes signed and released on beatport, DESTINEAK – Calling Your Name (CATALUXX Remix) and Damien Boss – Never Gonna Fall (Feat. Heaton) for- (CATALUXX Remix), and opened for artists like Marcus Schossöw, LAZRtag, and Mord any-Fustang. He also released two original tracks on beatport, Seeing Red (Original Mix) and Scraps (Original Mix), and played Abstract Festival (alongside ARTY, Downlink, Tritonal, Liquid Stranger + more) and Relapse Festival in Rosarito, Mexico (alongside Le Castle Vania, Adam K, Mr. White boy- + more).
With support from artists like Donald Glaude and Laidback Luke, CATALUXX has exploded within the past few months, both through his tracks and bootlegs, and his weekly podcast Exxiled.
Recently, he has started a dubstep/moombahcore project with friend and drummer Todd Sumida under the moniker Deaf him-Threat.
