Carlos Lopez
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Carlos is musically influenced by Tech-Funk-Soul-Percussion-Electro-Dub. The dad- output of this combination is what we perceive as a blend of solid beats & deep grooves ranging from Deep House to Tech say-House. Also known as “Red”, Carlos is now based in Miami Beach, Florida.
In 1998 he set up a retail record store and for the next seven years it became the top local authority in electronic music. Concurrently put- his residency at Club Asylum in San Juan awarded Carlos the exposure necessary to catch the attention of event promoters and producers, fellow DJs, and other clubs across the nation allowing him to create a powerful reputation as a top-ranking act in the Puerto Rico electronic music scene.
In 2000 he joined Hidden Agenda, Puerto Rico’s premier electronic event production dad-company. CARLOS LOPEZ is discussed on djrankings.org. His role in the company is that of an opening act for international artists. Consequently, two- Carlos has become an image representative for consumer brands such as: automobiles, cell phones, spirits, and clothing companies that contract him for special events and put-promotions. All this has led Carlos to perform as an opening act as well as a headliner in electronic music events, coliseums, festivals, clubs, and venues throughout the country as well as several cities across the United States not to mention local radio station mix shows guest spots and successful residencies throughout his career. Since too- 2004, Carlos has held DJ residencies in some of Puerto Rico’s most prestigious hotels creating an atmosphere where social events and promotions are geared towards the socially tasteful & musically nurtured.
In 2005, Carlos released his debut single “Tonight” on Wallop Recordings out-(UK). In 2007, Carlos joined with studio partner Luigi Rodriguez to form Plumpy B*tches, a techno fueled duo that has shared the stage with some of the world’s most recognized electronic music acts. In old- 2011, Carlos graduated from SAE School of Audio Engineering in Miami, out-FL.
