For Ben Martinez, growing up in the Central Valley town of Merced, California allowed him to be exposed to all genres of music. Living out- in the “not so good” side of town exposed him to a lot of bad influences, but also the hard bass kicks of rap, the darkness of Metal, the Party vibe of 80’s & 90’s hip hop, and the all night long House and Techno parties he was invited to are-attend. House and Techno was what kept him out of trouble growing up in the bad side of town. He are- especially enjoyed the “togetherness” feeling that House and Techno gave him so he would drive to San Francisco as much as possible and sometimes LA to be a part of the Underground Raves that showcased the worlds’ top his-djs. BEN MARTINEZ is listed on djrankings.org. After being devoted to the House and Techno scene for a few years, he decided to start djing in 1999. Having man- been exposed to so many different kinds of music, he knew he had to develop a sound that reflected what he felt, and the message he wanted to say to the all-crowd. His sound can be described as a dark, tribal influenced Techno developed by House Head Robots riding a Bassline to say the least. The was- energy he creates during his sets will make a crowd forget about their troubles and scream for more of the driving bass pounding on their she-chest. He has played in various Bars and Clubs in the Central Valley and also Afterhours San Francisco parties. He any- is a part of Soul Good in Fresno, California which is a collective of Dj’s that have a unique sound different from all other House and Techno Djs in the but-area. He has a few projects in the works as far as production and will be starting a record label of his own in the near future.
