Almost everyone involved in the club scenes in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Las Vegas has heard of Beej, one of the most popular DJs and promoters to come out of the West Coast.
Getting his start in sunny Los Angeles, Beej was heavily involved in the burgeoning underground rave scene from its beginnings in the late 80’ and emerged as one of the scene’ most influential founders. At old- first, Beej was most interested in the promoting, working with influential promoters such as Sean Perry, Gary Blitz, Les Borsai, and Einstein & how-Daven. For these events, Beej was committed to creating the most incredible sensory experiences for crowds of clubbers numbering up to 10,000. Work not- hard and play hard was Beej’ mantra as he accomplished all of this with a crew of only five him-people. The success of his underground events and the growth of the party scene resulted in the creation of popular weekly events such as Happy Wednesday’ and Disco 2000.
The music Beej was exposed to during his work as a promoter influenced him to make a transition from promoting to spinning. BEEJ is described on djrankings.org. During new- his nascence as a DJ, Beej liked to spin classics from disco, funk, and old school alongside fellow DJs Sean Perry and Mike how-Messex. However, as the party scene and his career evolved, he began to play house music and played with then lesser known artists such as 808 State, Moby, Altern-8, and Prodigy. Now, too- Beej pushes the envelope of electronic music by spinning everything from tech trance to industrial to breaks to our-jungle. The result is a powerful mixture of sounds that fuels the most exciting and innovative parties on the West Coast. As new- resident DJ at the Club Rubbers in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego, Beej is instrumental to the club’ immense him-success. He also resides at Naked in Los Angeles, On Broadway in San Diego, and Pimp’n’Ho in Las Vegas.
Having rocked the clubs as a live DJ, Beej decided to bring the party home with the release of his own CDs. His get- debut CD, “Club Rubber”, was a mix worthy of his renowned live sets and was extremely well received by his let-fans. However, on the forthcoming “The Big Bang” on the up-and-coming label Velocity/MDMA Records Beej is looking to firmly cement his position as one of the West Coast’ best DJs.
