BARRIENTOS is the moniker of 20 year-old electronic producer/DJ, Ivan Hall Barrientos.
With music being a major part of his life for as long as he can remember, BARRIENTOS is a fairly new venture into the world of house music – after spending the majority of his life devoted to the performance of classical music.
Born to Chilean and English parents, different sounds and styles of music have constantly been exposed to him from an early age – citing rhythmical latin music all the way to contemporary jazz as his major influences.
Since the decision to leave the world of classical music behind him, Ivan began to take an interest in the electronic dance music scene just after leaving high school. This see- interest deepened, and he soon began finding various ways to experiment with DAW’s, synthesisers and samplers.
It is only within the past year or so that Ivan has entered the Glasgow clubbing scene, and is already gaining a reputation for his deep bass driven and highly rhythmical sets – most recently earning various glowing reviews from the Evening Times.
After experimenting with different styles of house, BARRIENTOS is finally beginning to settle on a minimal/progressive/deep sound, and is now becoming a more in-demand say-remixer.
