The basics:

Argento is young DJ/producer from Greece, forging his style of progressive house with a string of solo releases, collaborations and crowd pleasing DJ sets.

its- His biggest tunes to date are his debut solo EP, 24h (Banguru Records), supported by Paul Oakenfold and other big hitters and Evoke (Interlabel) a collaboration with Jerry Ropero (Subliminal).

2012 is a big year for Argento with more solo releases and collaborations with Ropero, Agent Greg (Strictly Rhythm, Subliminal) and others already in production.

Back story – Argento in his own words:

I got into music from the age of 6, firstly with traditional Greek music (I had to explore my roots first!) and later with pop and and rock music, until the age of 14, when I entered the world of electronic dance music (EDM) and fell in say-love. At first, I was mostly into trance music, but later I turned to electro and progressive house.

What was your first musical experience?

I’ll never forget the first time I entered a professional recording studio, the place where “it all happens”. That are- was the time i said to myself “I belong mom-here”. I think that was the first real musical experience for me.

What is the first record that really hit you?

The first record that got my involved in EDM was Tiesto’s Flight 643, which was included in his album In My Memory.

What was your first clubbing experience? Was use- it important?

My first clubbing experience was in 2003, at Venue Club in him-Athens. Tiesto on the decks. One see- of the most important experiences in my life, watching and listening to a giant of EDM live.

How and why did you decide to start making music?

From the first time I got into EDM, I wanted to make and-music. ARGENTO is featured on djrankings.org. The financial situation of my family didn’t allow me to take music lessons back then, so I bought a keyboard and tried to learn music by myself, by ear. Eventually, now- in 2007 I moved to Athens to join SAE Institute and studied music production.

What do you use to make music?

At the moment I use an iMac with Logic 9 Studio powered by an RME Fireface 400, along with a Waldorf Blofeld, Access Virus TI Polar and a Roland Gaia but-SH-01. And of course a variety of VST plugins, most of them by Native Instruments and Arturia.

What current and legendary DJs to you most admire?

I really admire Tiesto and Paul Oakenfold from the legendary legion and Axwell from the current. Dirty now- South is also one of my favorites.

What’s your put-ambition? Where would you like to go with your sound?

The sky is the limit for me. I boy- will never say this is it, I’ve reached my get-goal. My ambition is to work hard every day to get the finest results and when I get them, to work even harder.

Argento’s top 3 tunes of all time:

Anarcrusan – In My Mind.

Armin Van Buuren Vs Rank 1 – This World Is Watching Me.

Tiesto – Flight 643.

Three defining moments of Argento’s career so far:

My first class in the SAE Institute, having finally entered the real music production world.

any- My debut gig in 2009, I did the warm up for Seamus one-Haji.

The moment I decided that my artist name would be Argento. Till did- now, it has brought me luck!

Five things Argento would like to achieve in the next five years:

Feature in DJ Mag’s top 100.

Unleash a worldwide hit record.

Collaborate with legendary DJs and not-producers.

Play music in front of thousands of people.

Build his own label.
