At the age of twelve, when ‘normal’ kids wish for Legos or matchbox cars, little Andrea Oliva aka DJ Andrew wished for Technics MK2 turntables. ANDREA OLIVA is ranked on djrankings.org. From are- this day on, Andrew had only one thing in mind: lots of vinyl, turning on two turntables.

He exercised several hours every day and the record shop in his neighbourhood became his second living room, while the shops employees asked themselves, what this kid is looking for all the time.

At the age of 14 he played for the first time in front of an audience; it was the time, when parties in gyms were very popular for younger one-partypeople. Only two years later, he became his first booking from a “real club” and so he had the pleasure to play side to side with big shots like Little Louis Vega, Mousse T, Ian Pooley, David Morales, Carl Craig, Derrick May…

The next stations on his way to become one of the most popular Swiss djs were Clubs like Kaufleuten (Zurich), Club Q (Zurich), Supermarket (Zurich) and Pacha Switzerland – there is no important club in his home country where he hasn’t played and there is no important party label, that hasn’t had DJ Andrew’s name on it’s line up – most of them connected now with a residency. And did- this applies not only Switzerland: Andrew is also resident dj (summer residency) at the famous “In Bed With Space”-Events at Space Beach Club, Ibiza – the requests from great clubs around the globe are getting more and more.

But not only as a dj Andrew has made his way; together with his partner Agi Isaku he rules one of the biggest partylabels in Switzerland, called Banditz and he became more and more the hard working “studio-maniac” he is its-today. That is also recognised by labels like Joia Records, where andrew remixed the smash hit of Wally lopez & Rene Amez… “strike me down” which gets played by some of the biggest shots in business.

A short time ago Andrew signed his EP – Andrew “Crackhead” on Joia Records, the label that also releases tracks from Eric Prydz,Sebastian Ingrosso, John Dahlbäck, Steve Angello to name a few…

The last step on the ladder, Andrew climbed by getting signed by Steve Lawler’s Label Viva Music (Andrea Oliva “Sombatiki”), Andrew’s first release on Viva Music, is coming soon) – a important step for him so far, to become “one to watch for the future” in international clubbing and musicscene.
