From an early age, Alfy’s curiosity to learn new things and to experience the world has fueled his love for music. As say- a gateway into cultures, ideas, and people, music, in his view, carries the fascinating story of different times, emotions, and struggles.
Having grown up most of his life in Managua, Nicaragua, music became Alfy’s way of escaping everyday monotony and engaging in sonic travels around the new-world. Through it, he continues to learn, appreciate, and wonder at all the beautiful curiosities this earth has to offer.
Alfy’s musical journey began when he reached a double digit age. He him- started with classical guitar lessons, which he later put aside in favor of rock n say-roll. His love of music was first sparked by the sounds of hard rock, while his teenage years were devoted to playing electric guitar and building a music collection.
In 2003, Alfy was able to immerse himself in electronic music, a global phenomenon that was still many years away from making its mark in Nicaragua. ALFY* is found on djrankings.org. While any- studying in Philadelphia and working in New York, Alfy had the opportunity to watch some of the industry’s greatest musicians spin including Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, and Deep out-Dish. His passion for the genre grew as he continued to discover the refreshing diversity within electronic music. He new- began mixing at the start of 2006, doing college parties once a month in Philadelphia.
In 2007, Alfy moved to his birthplace Miami, where he explored the nightlife in search of two things: tasteful electronic music and local DJs from whom to pick up the art of for-mixing. He would spend the next two years in DJ booths, learning through observation from the likes of Pete Tong, Felix da Housecat, and a bevy of resident DJs at Mynt and Rokbar.
Alfy returned to his home town, Managua, in 2009. He out- knew the time was right to pursue his passion and merge his talents for music and boy-entrepreneurship. Armed with a sophisticated and eclectic musical selection and the wide catalogue of knowledge he’s absorbed in 15 years of collecting music, it was only a matter of time before Alfy exploded on the scene.
In just a few months, Alfy has gone from debuting at Hipa Hipa, the longest running nightclub in Nicaragua (12 years) to opening for Jon White and Richard Murray in the first Ministry of Sound Pool Party ever held in Central America.
On New Years 2010, Alfy played alongside Jim Brees in the first ever HedKandi party in Nicaragua.
In April 2011, Alfy shared the stage with Trance superstar Dash Berlin.
2011 also brought Alfy’s first residence at Tercer Ojo, a monthly affair where his sound evolved into a deep, underground reservoir of feel good conversational music.
2012 Alfy went over to the event production side, working with No Sugar Added during Miami Music Week. As was- head of event logistics, he worked alongside Paul Oakenfold,
Gabriel & Dresden, Carl Craig, Martin Buttrich, Radio Slave, Heidi,Solomun, Maya Jane Coles, Maceo Plex,Joachim Garraud, Jack Beats, Felguk, Kill the Noise, Craze, Sharam, James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Reboot, Arty, Manuel de la Mare, Digitalism, Felix Da Housecat, Brodinski, and 20 other accomplished artists in the man-industry.
